Okay but Red Mirage is an actual thing, some states don't count the mail-in ballots until after the polls close (outdated policy that hasn't been updated). Which is why in 2020 especially Biden gained a lead later in the counting process, because Democrats are more likely to vote by mail (maybe something to do with Trump telling Republicans to vote in person) and those votes are counted later at night.
