Last time a Republican presidential candidate won a majority of the female vote was 1988 (50-49 Bush).

George Loucadellis If "God" exists then it is responsible for all the pain and suffering in the world. You choosing to worship such a being means you celebrate fatal cancer in children. You are a monster who needs to be deported to Antartica where you belong.

George Loucadellis Again, a being that causes such pain and suffering is not worthy of anything but contempt and to love such a being means you support and love the actions this being took. No one knows whether such a being exists, but the moral implications of supporting such a being are clear. It's a simple choice in the event a god exists, support the actions of this being and spend eternity with mass murderers like Osama bin laden and Timothy McVeigh or stand your morality and spend eternity with legendary humanitarians who just happened to not believe in god.

this is a good point. I definitely agree. Obama won all of New England states which have universities and institutes of higher learning like Cooper Union, MIT, not to mention the Ivy League. In Illinois: Carnegie Mellon, Boston University, University of Chicago. In California: Standford, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, Cal Tech, etc.

I never said every single person who lives in a city is highly educated. But cities have colleges and jobs that require a education and knowledge other than how to load a shotgun or work a plow. There are way, WAY more educated people working in cities than on farms. No one moves to the sticks of Arkansas to join the space program.

Again, you're making huge assumptions because they make your argument sound good. I'm not trying to be a pain here, I'm just saying that to assume that big cities vote democrat because that's where the educated people are is extremely biased. The African American vote was almost completely Democrat, and that is not a demographic that is not known for their high education as a whole - but they do mostly live in big cities. So can we assume big cities vote Democrat because that's where AAs are?

Not one state would have flipped the election in his favor that year. Romney could have flipped the three closest swing states he lost in Florida, Ohio, and Virginia, and still would have lost in 2012. Hell, he also could have pulled off a most stunning upset by winning California, and a small swing state he lost in Nevada, or Iowa, and would have came up just shy in that scenario for that matter too.

I dont think Tyson made a ignorant statement. It was based on facts. 90% of every major city in the US votes democrat. I think what he didnt mention, is the impact on influence. The farmer in the midwest only knows his family and the few neighbors surrounding him who all think the same. But in a city, many minds together can influence the less educated by presenting various opinions.

True enough, I was just pointing out that cities are FULL of uneducated people. To assume that Democrats are winning the cities because that's who all the educated people vote for is a massive stretch of logic. You could just as easily say they win the populated centers because that's where all the people on welfare live. I'm not trying to argue in favour of the GOP (which is a mess right now), just trying to point out what an ignorant statement Neil DeGrasse Tyson made. Cheers.
