Surveillance video showed the truck driver was going nearly as fast on the ramp as the traffic on the expressway above. He was pulling a tanker filled with 8500 gallons ( 36 TONS ) of gasoline. This mess was completely avoidable.

@@copperf3117 Not really. They'll need to put up a retaining wall for each lane so they can remove one temporary lane at a time as they finish the permanent lanes but those will be supported by beams allowing easy access underneath to the next retaining wall and the fill within, it is an overpass after all. There weeks or so to get three lanes in each direction should be doable and if there's any question about the fill settling that shouldn't be an issue before two or three permanent lanes in each direction are ready to use.

Maybe if people drove the speed limit, which is only 25 on the off ramp (especially a tanker truck carrying 9000 gallons of fuel), then perhaps none of this would of ever happened.

@@42luke93 It isn't a sharp turn, it is a curve. I have driven down that curve many times. So have many people. Do You know what the factor is? We all slow down as we get on the curve. There are signs telling a driver to slow down. The car has to slow down anyway as there is a traffic light at the end of the road that connects to the end of the curve. The report stated the truck hit the wall of the overpass, which means he may problems that were stopping him from slowing down. Yes, I have seen other trucks come down that exist as well. They don't seem to have issues driven down that curve.

Thats all assuming recycled glass material in such a deep pile doesn't subside too fast !!!!! it sounds like Bessemer brick... refractory tiles... too .spongy.. liable to turn to dust... not quite the railway ballast. "its extremely durable"... but shows us a cloud of dust that comes off it as its loaded into the truck....

Less than a week to truck in and plant the fill, assuming the manufacturer can timely provide that much. About 10 days to lay down and pave the temporary roadbed, add guardrails and test. Less than 3 weeks from now, overall.

**News Flash** It's been reported that a city bus was travelling North bound at a high rate of "SPEED" jumped across the dismantled gap and landed on the other side. Reports tell us that a woman who was driving the bus looked like Sandra Bullock and some dude standing over her who looked like Keanu Reeves as they continued North on I-95. Shortly thereafter, the bus hit a baby Stoller full of tomato cans being pushed by a bag lady.
