Forgotten weapons just coverd this gun! So you need to lift the charging handle to separete the bolt from the barrel when loading the first cartrige. Also you can soften the recoil with changing the brake position.
@sergeyishenin6732 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s what it is to lower recoil!
@flaviobriggs2 жыл бұрын
@@sergeyishenin673 In the GM6 it has an additional feature as well. The less energy the muzzle brake is taking from the round the more energy goes into pushing the entire barrel backwards. Rounds that aren't packed as hot wont have the energy to chamber the next round so if you adjust the position of the brake on the barrel you can increase felt recoil but also increase its ability to chamber the next round.
@attilaosztopanyi9468 Жыл бұрын

A quick primer on how this gun works. The GM6 Lynx uses a long-recoil action. In short, the gun uses the mass of the barrel being pushed back from firing to cycle the bolt. The barrel and the bolt stay locked together for the full length of rearward travel, before the barrel unlocks and the bolt is held back to eject the spent cartridge and feed a new round. You'll notice the small part stays at the back of the gun for a moment before going forward. Because the Lynx uses the barrel as recoiling mass, it can afford to make the bolt actually quite small for a .50BMG. The Barrett M82 also uses a recoiling action, but the Barrett is a short-recoil action. The barrel and bolt only stay locked together for a fraction of the bolt's travel before the barrel unlocks and returns forward.

Nice thing about cheap safety glasses: - You wont be apprehensive about getting them dirty or scratched -They are available everywhere -Cheap means you can replace them frequently and have new condition glasses pretty much all the time. -Don’t have to worry about storing them (when the job’s done, toss ‘em) -Impact/abrasion PPEs are consumables by definition. If they all meet the same specs, get the cheaper unless form/fit/function necessitates otherwise.

I LOVE YOUR LYNX!
@LockeOG2 жыл бұрын
Man I love the GM6 Lynx, just something about having the insane power of a .50 BMG paired with a relatively short platform that gives me the tingles. The recoil mechanism reminds me of hydraulic recoil mechanisms found on large field guns and howitzers.

I made some tests on our shooting range includding 22lr, Trap shotgun rounds from 10meters, 9mm. And to be honest cheap safety glasses for builders etc (even very cheap from a building supplies shop) performed the same or better than "ballistic" shooting glasses. Expensive shooting glasses are more comfortable etc. Best performing were machinist glasses (made to stop debrii or broken tools from cnc machines), they stopped 9mm! (of course without backing behind them, but still survived a shot :) ) So: even the cheapest (3$ glases with certificate) will do a great job!

That's essentially what those "Wal-Mart" ones are. They're just rebranded safety glasses. That said, ALL shooting glasses have that same rating. Hell, the vast majority of sunglasses and prescription glasses have that same rating.

A customer of mine was working in a warehouse, a board got thrown up from somewhere, hit him in the glasses, broke the glasses, went into his eye, got surgery and sued the makers of the safety glasses for 3 million.

@@williameldridge9382 I wouldn't trust regular prescription glasses to hold together. I say this as a lifelong wearer of glasses, and as someone who gets hit in the face by things fairly often. I haven't been shot at, but lenses can and do pop out if hit hard enough, or if the metal frames get twisted. And memory metal nose bridges tend to snap off. If you wear glasses, get safety glasses that go over them, or get prescription safety glasses.

The plastic in eye protection is relatively soft. It tends to scuff up in a short time. Expensive eye pro should ideally have a hard coating so they won't scuff as fast. If you're in a situation were you can just buy new eye pro any time you need it than the cheap ones are fine.

Unless the lenses are polycarbonate, they'll fail just as quickly. There is no commonly available material that does as good of a job as polycarbonate for absorbing impact, while staying optically clear. What's sad to me is that there is NO company that can make lenses that don't get scratched easily, to this day. How many videos have you seen where a grinding disk exploded and Oakley's or any other expensive brand caught the pieces? None. It's always cheaper stuff like home depot brand glasses or a cheap face shield.
@littlejackalo53262 жыл бұрын
@@chevy383jt their plastic lenders are PC. So what are you trying to say? "They'll fail just as quickly." Just as quickly as what? Oakley makes an entire line of ANSI Z87.1 rated glasses. And their glasses that aren't technically Z87.1 rated, use the same PC and are just as durable.

I suggest getting a gimbal with a focus wheel that works with your camera's electronic AF or one with a focus motor if you're using manual lenses, because as is, the camera operator obviously can't keep up. You could also have him/her experiment more w. the AF settings in camera or a different lens, that does the trick most of the time.
@Skrenja2 жыл бұрын
Fuck AF, manual all day. Cameraman/woman just needs to git gud lol.
@unverifiedbiotic2 жыл бұрын
@@Skrenja Depends how many cameras you have rolling, how skilled you are at focus pulling, etc. You absolutely can rely on PDAF in run and gun situations when shooting from a gimbal without all that extra focusing gear, but most people forget that the lens quality is as important as the body's AF technology and settings.
