I currently have one of these on the dresser on top of my mirror, it did this also because the chip was malfunctioning, i googled it and it says between the type of batteries you are using or the diode in the chipboard is malfunctioning will cause it. Mine doesn't sing that song but it just says merry Christmas i love you. But i had bought mine at goodwill, for some strange reason when I saw it, it was all i ever wanted in my entire life.......
