I was worried Zenitsu was gonna get annoying too but I love him and can relate to him a lot. He is not the typical anime character though, it's rare to have someone this extreme.

The snack was an onigiri, compressed sticky rice partially wrapped with a bit of nori. They can be plain, but usually have a filling such as salmon. The rice can also be mixed with seasonings.

5:41 The "Kimono Jacket" As you call it as actually just called a Haori, which goes over kimono in colder seasons/areas. Lighter Kimono are Yukata and every part of a Kimono set has a different name as well!

so the rice is actually called Onigiri, it's a traditional Japanese food that's commonly included in children's school lunches and picnics. It's salted rice formed into a rounded triangle and can be wrapped in nori(dried seaweed). You can also mix the rice with fish, umeboshi(sour plums) or furikake(rice seasoning that can be found in Asian food markets), it's pretty simple to make and it's delicious :)

Its basically like bread to european. It can be unappetizing for many people if eaten plain especially if you're not used to sticky rice. But usually theres always light filling/flavour, i dont think I've seen plain onigiri in the strores ever though.

The dish at ~4:55 is called Onigiri. Nowadays it's (for the most part) filled with fish/red bean paste/.... But back in the time this show takes place in, those ingredients weren't that cheep...
