It can be considered a friendship, in the war we realized that Iguro and Sanemi care for Giyuu (deep down) because they jumped to defend him from an attack by Muzan that would have killed him, you wouldn't do that for someone you hate.

@@nehemiah7012 gyomei before when he was a demon slayer, he raised a orphanage with a lot of kids (i think 12ish) and kaigaku was one of them, one day he disobeyed the temple’s rules and was out after dark, a demon saw him and kaigaku pleaded for the demon to save his life if he told the demon where the orphanage was and the demon accepted, the demon went into the temple and despite gyomei saying to stay in the temple and that he will protect them, only 1 child listened and the others died from the demon when running, i forgot what happened, but i think gyomei stalled for a long time and the sun came up and the demon burnt, some civilians saw what happened the next day and the leftover child (4 years old) said gyomei killed all the children and he was gonna get arrested and sentenced to death, but kagaya ubuyashiki saved him, sorry for the long comment
