Hey everybody, thanks so much for watching my videos. To give some perspective, I was very new when I recorded this video so long ago, new to ProTools and new to using hardware like this control surface. I have learned a whole bunch more and hope to create better Content moving forward. Please stay tuned and return to the channel to explore new Contin as it is made available.

Two years later I’m watching this. Music is my passion and I play several instruments. I’ve always been into audio recording and mixing, and knowing that programs like ProTools and flow tools are now accessible to use with voiceover encourages me to know more about it and learn how to use it. Your demonstration is well appreciated for those of us who love music as well as producing music.

Thanks for your comment. I want to do even better demonstrations because I have learned so much more, but my focus has turned away from social media lately. Someday I will do a few comprehensive videos on what I have learned and the equipment I’m using now.

I am not familiar with using windows and Pro Tools together. I have been informed that the pro tools PC based version or windows version, is not very accessible. The Apple platform is absolutely more accessible, especially if you use Pro Tools with flo tools.

Man. This is awesome. Much respect and love. I have retinitis pigmentosa. I’ll eventually go blind. I have some vision left. I’m a bodybuilder but have always been a musician first. I create and produce music myself and I know I’ll have to learn this stuff eventually. So cool. Being bkimd suxks. I’m sorry whatecer happened to you happened. But there’s more to this life than we know. And why things happen. And there’s more to the afterlife. Whatever that may be. I don’t know. But I just got a feeling. We’ll see agsin. Forget religion and ideologies. We’ll see agsin. Take care man.

Hey sir, I'm blind also. Can I ask if you can tune using auto tune?
@Baskis360
@Baskis360 3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is possible to use auto tune and melodyne to tune vocals. Some parts of the plug-in/software is not completely accessible and may require some special macros or programmed keyboard shortcuts. I am still learning how to use tuning software, but will try to post here again when I can do a demonstration.

Hey there, let me first say thank you for your service to the country. Does the Berkeley course teach you in the way a blind person needs to be taught? I.e. all of those key commands etc. Thanks for the video awesome!
@Baskis360
@Baskis360 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words. Berklee has a normal online course for anybody who wishes to take lessons, but it is designed for a sighted person really. There are a lot of helpful tips and strategies you learn, especially just the fundamentals, but you do not learn all the keyboard shortcuts necessarily. There is a live class generally and you can ask instructors questions along with the other students. I plan on giving instruction and can help if you’d like to set up a time to speak, I would gladly do just that. Just let me know?

Hello, Steve. My name is Konstantin. Thank you for your interesting and helpful videos. Please, tell, is it possible for blinds to use Izotope plugins in Pro Tools on Mac? For example, Izotope RX and Ozone. Please, sorry for my English. I'm not native speaker. Thank you. Good luck.

I recently downloaded some izotope plug-ins and it is possible to use the plug-ins, some of the features may not be as easy to use because they require vision. I have friends I work with who are blind that use isotope elements and RX to do different kinds of edits with no problem. In the future I hope to demonstrate some of these things on KZfaq. Hope this helps…

Hello, Steve. I'd like to ask more a little bit about using Izotope RX on macOS. Please, tell, is it compulsory to use Flo Tools for working with RX in Pro Tools? Do you know is it possible to work in RX directly through the program interface on macOS, without Pro Tools? Thank you. Good luck.

This is really cool and appreciated. I use android and a kindle tablet so I have been struggling to find an easy to use app for multi track recording where the accessibility has been coded in period wondering if anyone has any ideas maybe a direction to point me in or something? I'm hoping for something easy because I have no experience with multi track recording. Just hoping to get musical ideas down and be able to hear myself while adding new tracks. Cheers.

Hey thanks for your question. I would say on the Apple platform GarageBand would be the most straightforward and simplest thing to start out with. More complex Digital audio workstations would be: reaper, logic pro or pro tools. All of these are accessible for the most part and are used by hundreds of blind/visually impaired individuals around the world. I primarily work on Apple, so I cannot refer you to things on windows or other platforms much, I apologize for that. All of these software programs have a steep learning curve, but you can use them in a minimal way to just capture audio and playback.

@@Baskis360 The thing about steep learning curves as they are as steep as they used to since there are a million resources on KZfaq to learn stuff like this from. Yeah appreciate this list and I'm currently researching ipads now.

Absolutely, the Internet is amazing with blogs, tutorials and demonstrations. There are definitely a lot of resources out there and I can point you to forums, WhatsApp groups and other things if you’re interested? There are hundreds of blind/visually impaired people on these groups who actively talk to each other and demonstrate things, or even just describe how to get stuff done. Most of them are working on Apple or PC-based computer systems, not heard of too many working on mobile devices, but that is becoming more and more prevalent. I used garage band once or twice on my iPhone and it worked just fine. You could also buy a physical hardware device to do multi channel recording. The iPad should work great for garage band as well, there also is probably many third-party applications to choose from that I don’t know of.

I believe at one point there was an older version that worked with Pro Tools first, but the last time I tested the newest ProTools version with the latest flo Tools version, they did not work. It is best to start with a ProTools standard version or Pro Tools ultimate version and not with Pro Tools first unfortunately.

Can ProTools work with NVDA or JAWS?
@Baskis360
@Baskis360 Жыл бұрын
So I have no experience trying to use jaws or NVDA on a PC based system with pro tools installed. I am told by individuals who beta test and work closely with avid ProTools that it is not accessible. Pro Tools is definitely accessible with voiceover on the Mac system. If you have a PC system with jaws or NVDA, I would recommend trying it out and seeing whether or not it works if you have the capability to do so. Again, as far as I have heard it is not accessible on the PC/Windows computer systems.
