Horrible way to live, from experience. We are warriors for walking through this, every day. Many give up. 😥 Many people carry these genetics, as in an estimated 1/4. If you don’t have it now, don’t assume you won’t. If everyone stopped using these chemicals, we would all be healthier, especially our children (everyone’s).

@@gardensofthegods - Taking activated charcoal can help remove toxins from your body, though it can't be used continuously. Chelation may help. Switching to natural products, like baking soda and vinegar (9%) for cleaning helps. Eating healthfully with as few processed foods does, too. There may be a hormonal connection. You could join MCS support groups online (there are many on Facebook, regionally and generally) to learn more.

Having this condition (self diagnosed) has had a profound impacts on my life both good and bad. Fragrances are my worst enemy so every thing I buy is fragrance free. Perfumes, paint, cleaning supplies all wreak havoc on my skin as well (airborne or direct contact). God bless Arm and Hammer, Aveeno, and BertsBees for making fragrance free products!
@wholeshebang1
@wholeshebang1 2 жыл бұрын
I can't use Aveeno products - the oatmeal lotion I bought for a sunburn was scented. I only buy truly non-scented, natural products, like NatureClean and Ecover for laundry and dishsoap, and Dr Bronners unscented "baby" liquid castile soap (which is concentrated and can be diluted and used for dishes and general household cleaning, too). Even essential oils aren't safe for people with MCS, because of the VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) created during the extraction process. I've become sensitive to them over the years. When a home repair necessitated a paint job, I called Home Depot asking about their lowest VOC/no-odour paint (explaining my extreme sensitivities) and was told Behr latex was the most popular one. It reeked and even made my landlord and his co-worker gag. It was early fall, so I slept outside for a few nights in my beautiful backyard.

Hi Peter, don't know if you will see this. Sorry picked up your message late. The low dose immuneotherapy meant that I now no longer have sensitivity to the substances I was sensitive to. However I chose to have a 100 substances in my low dose immuneotherapy which is why my doctor at the time believed it impacted me so well because of the larger impact on my immune system. It also means that I don't have problems with any other substances outside that number. It meant I could go back to work and lead my life to the full with many ambitions and goals that I am heading to achieve. Breakspear gave back me my life and saved my life and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I personally and thankfully don't have Lyme Disease but Breakspear are specialists with Lyme Disease and I personally know several people who are being treated or were treated there successfully there. I just think Lyme Disease can be a longer road to recovery depending how long one has had it before treatment is sought.

@No Name - What do you mean about your body "eating holes in itself"? Do you have leaky gut syndrome, in which gluten and other foods cause tiny tears in the intestinal wall, and the contents of it seep into your body cavity where it can do harm? You do know that cigarette smoke has *10,000 chemicals* in it, none of which are "healthy." Smoking kills off the _cilia_ - tiny hair-like structures in your lungs that filter out particles - and they never grow back?

There is no treatment for MCS, other than prevention and avoidance, which is pretty challenging, with ever-present, airborne chemicals from personal grooming products, household and commercial cleaning products, tobacco smoke and e-cig vaporizers, and all kinds of everyday materials off-gasing toxic scents (which are neurotoxins, endocrine disrupters and carcinogens), mainly those made of petrochemicals. There are 80,000 patented chemicals globally. When you see the word "fragrance" on a label, there could be up to 300 compounds in it. The fragrance industry is self-regulated and wheneber one is, there's bound to be corruption and secrets, to protect their self-interest and the bottom line - profit. A company can state that their perfume/cologne is a "trade secret," and not disclose the ingredients. So we are all left in the dark. Many fragrances have a petrochemical base. Women's College Hospital in Toronto has the Environmental Health Clinic, which does assessments and offers information on it. You can find MCS/ES support groups on Facebook, where members share info, tips, and give support. www.womenscollegehospital.ca/care-programs/environmental-health-clinic/

You might have EMF Sensitivity as well. The level of Mycotoxins/mold spores increase near electromagnetic fields or electronic devices such as computers or cellphone towers. See if you can find yourself an EMF blocker for router or computer. You might have to use computer outside or get rid of it due to contamination. Computers do get dust and fine particles inside the fans/ vents. I hope that helps.

I have this and what has helped me is not using ANY soaps or detergents. No shampoos, no household cleaners. Just vinegar and baking soda. And removing them all from the house. Getting rid of as many plastic items as possible from the house. Only electric appliances and heating. Eating only organic unprocessed foods and no sugar at all. The only sweetener that doesn't aggravate my symptoms is real 100% maple syrup. Then avoiding chemicals (including cars) as much as possible. And no pills of any kind. That was tough cuz of the daily pain but after a while of not using them I wasn't in pain every day any more. But I use medical marijuana, but can't just smoke it. Now I feel so much better and can think and be myself again. I don't mind so much not being able to be around other people as long as I don't have to feel like I'm dying for a week afterward or more. Because other people are always covered with chemicals.

I've tried honey and it makes me sick still. I think it's because you can't tell a bee not to go get pollen of those flowers by the road side contaminated with gas fumes, brake dust and and heavy metals from tires. There's also the possible herbicides and pesticides that flowers they may collect from could be exposed to.

Pixie Widdle Swizzlestick What about Stevia it tastes a bit odd but it may worth a try. I feel your pain having MCS is an exercise in frustration especially with people who do not understand it or are just plain disdainful. I will pray for you.
@E.C.Animation
@E.C.Animation 7 жыл бұрын
Stevia is too processed. Maple syrup is just boiled down tree sap. It also contains many vitamins and nutrients not found in most foods, like magnesium. It doesn't trigger inflammation and only takes a little to sweeten. If you cut out all other sugars and processed foods it will not make you gain any weight and you can have as much as you want.

@@pamelaransom7406 Other things cause MCS too apparently. I am reading a book. Limbic system issues (my issue) which is a brain injury. But this author knows nothing about that. Basically he only knows that Pyphoria, Mass cell activation symdrom caues MCS but he thinks those two are bascially caused by MOLD and TICKS/LYME. But i think the limbic system brain injury ONLY can cause the mass cell activation disorder as well. Basically ppl with mold toxicity and LYME get MCS as well. The author is Neil Natham. The book TOXIC. I wouldnt really recommend it. DO you have MCS pretty severe? Well just keep wearing the 3M masks with the filters, make sure you get a small. The small stretches to medim then you need to get anoher 13.00 3m mask. Also i have a suspicion that with me anyway YOUR brain has GOT to forget. So once you go for a long time without getting attacked by fabric softner smells or perfumes, your will heal from those. I had MCS severe 13 mos ago but am now 75% better becaues YOUR brain and body heals on its own. Mine always did. BUT since i cannot seem to stay away from perfume attacks and fabric softner i still have a big problem with those. I am no longer smelling gas smells from many miles away and getting attacked by that. I don't believe our condtions are gonna ever go away 100% at this pt. At lest not for me. IF my MCS heals 100% I still know i cannot EAT any chemicals. OR getting any chemicals like rubbing alcohol in my blood stream. People are so stupid about this condtion how the sense of smell is very very ROBOTIC and psychic which is very anomolous. Any dumbass that says you have to some how expose your self to chemicals to get better RUNNNNNNNNNNNN. Just let your body heal on its own. I just got the DNRS sytem in the mail and will look at the dvds soon. IT heals the limbic system. DYnamic Neural Retraining system by annie hopper. But some where in there i think she does say to expose yourself to chemicals but I WILL NOT!!!!!! I will just sniff an avocado or something. But anyway check it out. The brain exercises supposedly cure MCS. My flare ups of MCS has always healed 100% on it s own except this time around when i got inject with rubbing alcohol after a food allergy blood text. I had a horrid allergic reaction to rubbing alcohol rubbed all over my arm and to what ever chemicals are on the end of those needles. OK i hope you heal. Rubbing alcohol is a HORRID chemical!!!
