Congratulations Tharbamar on making this purchase!! Kudos to your efforts of putting this content out. Phenomenal idea to give a glimpse straightaway regarding 50 hours worth of burn-in!! I must say there is a night and day difference between the before/after clips. It feels like a different amp altogether even just after 50 hours!! Sound seemed relaxed and staging seemed to have gotten bigger in comparison.Good signs...

Great video and very informing. I see that the only two illuminated volume units (PMA SX1 and PMA SX11) were for the Japanese market only, hence the step down transformer that you have to use for 100V spec. It’s just a stunning integrated amp. Thanks again!

From an industrial engineer, what does burning in to you mean. Switching something on for a period of time before using it? That is not burning in anything at all, it may find what is known as infant mortality. In other words, it conks in after a few hours of being energised for a while. I take it that you burn in your new computer as well, so maybe it would make less spelling errors in those first few days. Do you burn in your kettle in case it over boils water, or your watch in case it tells the wrong time for the first couple of days. This audio foolery has no end to it. The stuff that you believe as gospel is not worth being written down.

I'm about to receive a PMA A100 bought 2nd hand. I owned the 2000IVR for many years and enjoyed it until it died. From listening to samples online the PMA A100 appears to be a setup up from the 2000IVR even though they are obviously basically the same amp.

In my case, I used the preamp SC-11S1 with two power amps, two main speakers, and two pioneer super woofers. A weight is fixed to the back of the unit for the main speaker and super woofer to eliminate the blurring of the unit, and conversely to repel it forward. The localization is so good that it is unthinkable with commercially available speakers, and the sound comes out in front. The super woofer can be raised to 20Hz without violence by adding an equalizer.Good sound and the best memories.

A very good video on unboxing. The build quality is super hi end. the best part of the video is the before and after 50 hours. The out of the box amp sounded slightly bright and lean, and kind of harsh(not irritating). After 50 hours it sounded very bold, smooth and authoritative. A great amp to buy and its am sure will outperform any other hi end brand in any price bracket. More important, I am a big fan of made in Japan hi end audio gear.

I contacted Denon in the UK, they said to contact Denon in Japan and when i spoke to Denon in Japan, they said they cant help since the item in outside of Japan. Sorry for writing a lot to you. Congrats! I also just received mine a couple of days ago. I brought it blindly too but I know I can’t go wrong with any JDM only models. Mine is paired with B&W PM1 and Sonus Faber Concertino and so far I’m very impressed with the sound and power. As for the MM stage, I actually switched back to my own phono preamp after tried the built in one for a few hours. Built in phono stage is very smooth but maybe just my ears are so used to my own phono preamp which is more open and more dynamic. My turntable is Marantz tt15s1 with Nagaoka MP110. I’m looking forward to hear your impressions on the phono stage too.

If your transformer has a voltmeter, I am sure you will see it fluctuate during peak music transient. Your transformer needs to work in tandem with capacitors to stabilize the required voltage.

It will only dip when the amp is turn on, after that it'll be rock solid when internal power supply have 100% of current with adequate and sufficient enough step down transformer, external transformer do not need to work with capacitors inside the amplifiers because it has own transformer inside of the amp.

What a wonderful amp.My integrated amp is one of your listed amps to demo.And I’m not telling which one.But if I had another chance I would not mind getting this. I like silver amp.It has a retro look.Goodluck on this one . Can’ not wait to hear your critics.

The Japanese always keep their best stuff to themselves. Shame they don't offer it in a US version. I heard a difference after the 50 hrs break in on the second song. I would still like to see this agains the Yamaha, I think it would be a very good comparison.

Amazing! I had old Denon gold S10 components, they sounded beautifully, warm and enveloping. I can imagine how sweet must SX11 sound!! For instance, did you have chance to compare it to my other favorites i.e. Esoteric f05 and Marantz pm10?

I talked to some friends in Japan(also advice me not to keep Luxman 505uxII), they even went to audition it for me a few months back when everything was stable, my friends said SX-11 sound quality is comparable in every bit with SX1 except SX1 have edge on female voices and micro details but advantages to SX11 is bass control and power when they audition with TAD R1, thanks

@@Tharbamar Your R&D needs to be appreciated when you evaluated so many brands like ESOTERIC,Luxman,Accuphase etc. Wise choice between SX1 and SX11. SX1 is Statement piece Though.
@Tharbamar

@@parvezshaikhul Yes it is a statement piece but I want more power, although I know Denon always rated their Hifi amps lower than actual outputs, for the price to performance SX11 is hard to beat, one of the famous audio critic in Japan stated that this SX11 may be one of the master piece in Denon history. If you rename "After 50 hours" to "PS Audio" you will get comments like in previous video: denon is livelier, like in jazz club, depth and musicality, voice has better separation, lively and airy etc. ))

The PMA-SX11 has good localization, but the sound does not spread, so please listen to the Marantz amplifier. At this price, you can enjoy a sound that is several times better if you separate it than if you listen to it in the pre-main.

Thank you sir! How are you using it in the US? I want to buy some vintage equipment from japan but almost all of it is 100V. I can use a step down transformer but people have told me it’s not a good idea.
@Tharbamar

@haris javed, Step down transformer is not bad idea, it can even give you better sound if you use the right one, even highly sophisticated medical equipments uses step down transformers. Most people don't have actual experience, by the way what they thinks is bad about step down transformer? in the U.S. all of our homes electrical current is from step down transformers.
@haris525

Why are you connecting to both output sockets in your transformer? I am not techy. In USA I thought you would connect to one input, 120v and connect to only one output socket, 100v for your Denon amp.
