Dave Gahan zawsze wkłada serce i duszę w swoje śpiewanie i ruch sceniczny. Jest bardzo zaangażowany. To widać, słychać i czuć.

WOW! they even used different synths. (compared to the album) I love this song, it's such a rough contrast of synth pop and 60's beach boys grooves. It really brings me home, it has the sound of the future and the sound of the past at the same time, while having lyrics I have a strong connection to.

Lyrics : All I want to do is see you again Is that too much to ask for? I just want to see your sweet smile Smile the way it was before Well I'll try not to hold you And I'll try not to kiss you And I won't even touch you All I want to do is see you Don't you know that it's true I remember the days when we'd walk through the woods And sit on a bench for a while I treasure the way we used to laugh and play And look in each others eyes You can keep me at a distance if you don't trust my resistance But I swear I won't touch you All I want to do is see you Don't you know that it's true Well I know five years is a long time And that times change (oh that times change) But I think that you will find People are basically the same (basically the same) If the water's still flowing, we can go for a swim And do the things we used to do And if I'm reluctant you can pull me in And we can relive our youth Oh but we'll stay friendly like sister and brother Though I think I still love you All I want to do is see you Don't you know that it's true? 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷

These were REAL Depeche Mode :-) i agree with everyone saying that real drums and guitars on stage DON't fit to their music ... it can works with other electronic bands (and it does, indeed ) But NOT with them ... anyway, once more: .. in this video ONLY vocals are live ... look at Alan's main synthesizer : it's a Roland Jupiter 8, a wonderful polyphonic synth i owned many years ago; when turned on, the display in the middle show some numbers, by ver BIG red leds, indicating the "program" used and also the panel should have some orange led flashing ... nothing of this is visible, that means that the instrument is crearly turned off !!! And the same is for all the others synthesizers, i guess ... all the sounds come from the tape, i repeat, only vocals (at least, Dave's vocals) are real ...

Ok if You can (or You just want to ? :-) ) see it, You're very lucky or You've got an hawkeye ... I confirm my impression and once again, i repeat that my comment isn't unrespectful ... i WAS a fan of real DM, i'm just pointing out a fact ... Of course they really played live a lot of times ... not this one
@diggledoggle41927 жыл бұрын
Mag Di Sante This is the performance where almost everything failed, according to Alan.
@MagDiSante7 жыл бұрын
Of course there must be a technical reason for this (very disappointing) choice ... We all know that Alan is skilled, and That Martin can play keyboards live, although his technique isn't so good : his geniuous in composing, not in performing, the same is for Vince Clarke who also add a superb talent in synth programming ... ABout Fletcher, ok it doesn't matter he NEVER played actually (lol) and everyone knows it ... So they probably had some serious issues for this performance, although i can't figure out how : The set was actually quite simple : prerecorded bases on tape, NO MIDI, NO LIVE SEQUENCER (that would be much more interesting, honestly ! ) ... But something went wrong, obviuosly so they decided to use a FULL PRE-RECORDED PERFORMANCE (except for Dave's voice ...)
