Derby Premium Blades Are The Best Derby Blades Ever Made! Review & Shave!

This is my review of the Derby Premium Double Edge Blades. I previously did a video review of the Derby Extra Double edge Blades after many wet-shavers over the years declaring them as the worst blades ever to use for wet-shaving in which I wanted to find out for myself. I found the Derby Extra Blades to be average at best and worst with every shave after multiple passes. I had many recommendations to try these Derby Premium Blades in that they were much better in performance. Other items used in this shave include the Merkur 34C, Stirling Boar Shave Brush, & Stirling Carmichael Shave Soap/Aftershave.

I too found the Derby Extras become very blunt very quickly. They are a very safe shave so good for learning safety razors for cheap, but that lack of sharpness results in a dull blade after the first shave. Good to hear they are making higher quality blades now the competition is bigger.

I felt like I can only get 1 decent shave from the extras before they started tugging. They are pretty dull in my opinion & there are much better blades out there. The Derby Premiums are definitely much better than the extras & they are sharper as well as much smoother! Thanks for watching! Take Care Brother!👍😎

For me the Derby Premium blades are good for 3 shaves and definitely better than the Extra's. There's another Derby blade called USTA which I feel may be even better than the Premium, YMMV though. I actually re-use the plastic blade dispensers to keep other blades that come in cardboard boxes. There's always some scents that will not agree with some noses, for me scents with Bay Rum and/or Cloves will normally kill it for my nose. Have a great day my friend🤟🤠🤟

Great blade review. I have the Derby Extra and Derby Premium. I think these blades have good shave and good price. But i like the Derby Premium more.

Nice shave Brian and I agree with you that the Derby blades are garbage with only getting at best two shaves out of them. A good test is to see how many shaves you can get out of those new blades in the long run. I'm not a fan of the Island Man scent profile, it didn't smell good to me at all. Have a great day

That’s what I plan to do! I’m going to ride out this blade and see how many quality shaves I get with it till it goes dull. Island Man is a unique scent that to me smells nice but I know it’s not for everyone but I know it doesn’t smell horribly bad as the poster on the FB mentioned (it’s not THAT bad! Lol). This is a significant upgrade over the Derby green. It may not be as sexy or popular as a Feather or Russian Gillette or Persona. But boy it is a d*** good blade with regards to sharpness and smoothness. I have sensitive skin and coarse hair and dis blade does a great job for me. I shave every 3-4 days so by that time my beard is very coarse and I get 3-4 shaves out of a blade. So underrated especially at under $10 on Amazon. Excellent blade especially for the price.

How are the derby extras and are they better than astra green?

In my opinion the Derby Extras are just good enough for maybe 2 shaves before they get dull (from my experience!) I highly recommend the Astra green (Platinum)! They are a much better blade!

Derby premium are sharper, but not só smooth as extra. For me it works well , 3 shaves maximum, but I like blades that are much more durable.

I prefer the Derby Premium blades compared to the Extra. My face doesn’t agree with the Extras.

@@brianthefloridian6254 I prefer Derby Premium to, but I can't have a close shave with them. I'am using Super Max super stainelss these Days and they are Very good to, and Very durable.Smooth , Sharp and cheap, Very close tô Gillete Platinum.

Thanks for watching Brother! I get much better shaves with the Derby Premiums compared to the Extras in terms of sharpness & smoothness. I wish the Extras agreed with my face because they are quite easy to get for a great value price but sadly they are not for me. Good to hear the extras work for your face! That’s what makes wet-shaving so unique that every experience might be different for every other wet-shaver and YMMV! Take care and enjoy your shaves!😎👍

@@brianthefloridian6254 I wish as well, but my hair is very coarse, and since i started to use better blades i got a New impression. I had a terrible night to after using a Derby extra blade. I tried so much geting a close shave, that my skin got folliculitis.
