Candles do not need a draught to go out. At the bottom of tunnels can be a lot of carbon dioxide that is heavier than air, accumulates at the bottom of deep pits and tunnels and suffocates the fire from a candle. Dangerous! People have died because of carbon dioxide in subterranian tunnels. Richard breathes heavily in the tunnel as if he has not enough oxigen. Next time better take a carbon dioxide meter down the tunnel for your own sake.

@@jjbentley9 I'll talk about my first sighting because that one was definitely real. It was at an ex's house. I woke up in the night and saw a tall woman sat on the bed. She gave me a nod and look as if to say "Don't mind me, I've stumbled here by accident". My male ex had long hair and a slim body and could look feminine from the back. Thinking it must be him, I leapt forward to hug the apparition but she disappeared. I looked to see my partner of the time asleep next to me.

@@beaucoupspaceship2349 WOW 😳 that's crazy yea there's so much that's yet to be discovered. I believe in ghosts to many people have had similar experiences. For them not to have any truth to them at all. Very interesting not sure what I would do at the moment lol. But I think afterwards I be happy I seen something that's rarely seen. You might be sensitive enough if you went to other places of hauntings etc you might see something else. If you're in to that. Thanks for sharing your ghost experience. Much appreciated.👻😁

@@jjbentley9 I actually really don't have the gift. All times that I have seen ghosts were accidents so I don't think it would work for me if I went somewhere known for hauntings or sightings. I am delighted that my belief in ghosts was confirmed by the sightings though.

@@beaucoupspaceship2349 yes most definitely. Very cool thing to experience. Hopefully one day I well experience something cool like that. I've experienced other odd stuff no ghost tho. When mom was dying she hollered out loud. Like she was talking to her own mom. Said no not ready to go home yet. That was odd because it was like to her momma was there. I think she was she came to take her to the other side. If you like other people ghost stories celebrities ghost stories is good. And ghostly encounters. There people telling there experiences no ghost hunting lol I don't like those types. But yea there good. Anyways nice chatting with you take care 😘

I've never seen a ghost 👻 but I would most definitely think it's a blessing. Because you seen something that's normally not seen. It's so interesting I love ghost stories. Always have sure always well

Obviously the man riding his horse was on his way to a fancy dress party. Derby equestrians have a lot of fancy dress parties I'm sure. No the truth is there is not a 'sort of person' who sees ghosts perfectly ordinary people see ghosts. Iv'e known all sorts of people who have seen ghosts. Everyone from bookkeepers, to shop assistants, old age pensioners, carers & taxi drivers. Plus the owners of a stately home. I have also seen a few myself.

I have been doing my family tree and just found out my 9th or 10th great grandfather was keeper of the house at Wingfield manor during Elizabeth the 1st reign while mary queen of Scots was kept there they lived on the land at the manor till it was destroyed in the cilvil war then had to find other work and they moved to matlock and became lead miners and owned the great Masson cavern the family name was cardin/carden although my last name is watson

Richard hasn't taken the ideomotor phenomenon into account to explain why his crystal was swinging when he touched that stone. The ideomotor phenomenon is also what causes a planchette to move on a Ouija board. If spirits were really communicating with people, then why do people have to touch the planchette?? The spirits should be able to move the planchette, without anyone touching it, while people are asking questions. But no, that's not what happens. It's the ideomotor phenomenon. You have to touch the planchette, or the dowsing crystal, in order for it to move.

What was the yellow box that was on the floor, part way into the tunnel beneath the Peacock pub in Okerthorpe as the camera showed it multiple times while scanning but you Richard made no mention of it? If a ghostly spirit possibly of a hooded monk was in the tunnel and who you thought might have blown out your candle and that in a previous visit the camera man's batteries had gone dead after two photo's, then why did your torch batteries not go dead also as well as the candle going out? I think it was because you had inadvertently blown it out accidently with the exhaustive breaths you were taking to move around down there. Entertaining though.

Though the monestry owned the mine, often it was not the monks themselves who dug. It depends somewhat on the order. Some orders did beleive in doing manual work alongside lay workers. But many other orders were devotional orders that were kept busy much of the time with a routine of masses, prayers, hymns, praises study & contemplation. They employed lay workers who did most if not all of the manual labour.

It would be great if an archeologist would explore that tunnel under the Peacock pub ....but...properly. At least someone serious and not play acting having the shits like Mr. Felix. Why does he bother with a candle, just take a couple of halogen lamps and blast the place with light or a gas lamp if battery drain is a problem or run a cable so the ghost has to drain a whole power station or chemical light sticks, lets see how good the ghosts chemistry lessons were.
