Can't even imagine how you feel dealing with this right now. Don't give up on the car just yet. Something to think about when home searching. Not sure if you're dead set on used homes or if you've looked into new construction. A lot of new construction builders will allow you to make selections/upgrades to completely make the home how you want. They usually give incentives too meaning a certain amount of money to either cover the cost of those upgrades to reduce the overall cost of the home, cover the cost of closing costs, or even to buy down the interest rate. That's the biggest factor I've noticed with homes. Interest rates on a car don't change the payment a whole lot, but on a home it really does. It's something to check into if you haven't already. It sounds like you're also looking for the forever home right off the bat. I don't doubt you'll eventually be able to do that, but most people move into a starter home and put 3%-5% down so they can start building equity. Live in that for a few years until you outgrow it and then use that equity to put 20% down on a bigger home while keeping the payment similar. Just keep in mind the longer you wait the higher the home prices will get. It's a give and take. Not trying to tell you how to live your life. Just some food for thought. Keep your head up brother!

Cars are a depreciating asset to begin with, best to buy the vehicle and use and enjoy it as it was intended. Who cares what it re sales for later, you don’t buy a car you intend to actually use daily to make money off of it. The insurance will fix that little damage and he’ll be back on the road in no time. It’s not worth losing sleep over.

​@@Eric_Bassett not every car are depreciating. Come special editions like the a Subaru STI S209 will go up in value. The Mach 1 has held its value due to the better manual transmission and other upgrades from the GT350 and GT500 cars. Most people don't want to buy a car that has been wrecked.

I'm so sorry Derek, I know from experience it sucks dude. 2 hours after I bought my 2022 GT somebody side swiped it. I thought I'd never get over it, but since the accident it's been repaired and ceramic coated and I love that car more and more every day and I never think about the accident. Keep your head up bro, it gets better I promise.
