5% urea moisturizer is essential for me for my face. My face gets flaky/scaly/dry if i don't use it. My face becomes baby smooth and feels hydrated with 5% urea cream! I just use any generic brancd, sometimes even the eucerin hand cream (it has 5% urea). works for me!

Loved the video🤩 informative, fun, and straight to the point!! Looking forward to watching your upcoming uploads! I have two questions; What is the difference between the differin gel and the differin ointment? And can you use it in the same skincare routine with BHAs?
@usamasyed
@usamasyed 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback! In response to your questions: 1) With every type of skin targeting medicine, the 'vehicle' for the active ingredient can be varied. These vehicles vary depending on their comparative oil/water contents, and can also affect the strength of the medication on your skin. From 'wateriest' to 'greasiest' it goes: solution, gel, lotion, cream, ointment. So a Differin ointment would feel thicker and greasier than a gel, but would feel even stronger on your skin! (This is all a spoiler for a video I'll be doing in the future about this exact topic, but now you've got the inside scoop!) We don't have Differin ointment available near us, so I've never come across it! 2) You certainly can incorporate both of these types of products in a skincare routine! The most common BHAs my patients use are salicylic acid, and I recommend that they use their BHA product in the morning, and the retinoid product in the evening. Bear in mind, though, that both of these ingredients can be drying and irritating to the skin, so I recommend working SLOWLY towards having them both in the routine, not all at once!

I just found out about Differin Gel. My doctor, general practitioner, gave me a prescription for tretinoin a few years ago. Because I didn’t have acne, she couldn’t get insurance to cover it. My skin at age 56 looks as thin and crepey as a 90 year olds. I wanted it to help build collagen and elastin back up. It was $200 for one 5ml tube. That is not a sustainable cost for me. I’ve heard great things from derms on youtube about this product. I just started it three days ago, so I’m hopeful it’s a treasure.

@@jonh1995 Hi Jon, I’ve only been using it for a few months. My skin looks pretty good, but I also take supplements, exercise, and use other skin care products. I also do face yoga. At my age I have to pull out all the stops. I don’t think my skin looks 56, I don’t know for sure. My daughter says she hopes to age as well as me. 🤷‍♀️ When I was at the grocery store the other day, I was with my 25 year old daughter. I bought a bottle of Rum Chata, and the lady behind the counter who was probably my age, actually carded me. Could have been a fluke because I was with my kid…

Really loved the comedy skits halfway through too :) I think more B roll would really do well for your videos besides them being really really valuable to viewers! Thanks so much for the comment and feedback, Archer! Great to see a fellow PTYA member! I totally agree with the B roll part, I noticed that I had quite a lot in the second half of the video, but almost none in the first half, and it really felt a bit one dimensional to me in retrospect! Epiduo is great! Funnily enough, both Epiduo and Differin gel contain 0.1% adapalene in them, so you're totally fine sticking with that! The added benzoyl peroxide can make it a bit more irritating to some people's skin, but if it's not a problem for you then Epiduo is great too!

Differein Gel is for acne treatment. Can I still use it if I don't have acne problems? My goal is to reduce sagging and wrinkles. Love your channel! Thanks!

@@usamasyed Looking forward to your content, this video truly had some solid advice in it. Would you recommend retinol for someone who is 18 or can you only start using it once you are older?
@usamasyed
@usamasyed 3 жыл бұрын
@@MSS-lc7dc It's absolutely OK to use it even younger than 18! Often teenagers use retinoid products for acne for example. The only people we advise to avoid it are those who are pregnant!

@dr. Usama syed is it good to use the Differin Gel if you have a weak type of psoriasis or rather take a tretinoin? Read that tretinoin could help with psoriasis but there is no evidence about adapalene Thanks for an answer ! 😊

Salaam, 1rst Q is - As your skin naturally secretes moisturizing ingredients is it necessary to use twice a day? Or would letting your skin "naturally moisturise" itself be the better option? 2nd q - What is the argument that people say, people in past times or third world countries don't use all this stuff and their skin is "perfect" so, therefore, we should not use anything too? Please answer.

OK, love to learn about skin! I wonder about non toxic products as opposed to most otc with parabens(I know, controversial!) Other hormone-, endocrine- disruptors, known carcinogens, Etc. ingredients in products! Also, we have over 1K allowable chemicals in products which are banned in Europe! Which non-toxic products/ ingredients/ brands do you promote? As we all know, the disease incidence in the USA is staggering, & some of this is attributed to the toxins in, on & around us. Your thoughts please?

1. Hey Dr., I was wondering if I should apply a moisturizer (like Neutrogena hydro boost) before applying a silicone gel to the scar? My thinking was that the silicone gel only is an occlusive layer and does not directly moisturize the skin, especially after I use a Benzoyl Peroxide wash which does dry my skin a little. How should I maximize the silicone gel effects? 2. Should I apply my sunscreen before or after applying my silicone gel? My sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen so would it be ineffective it I apply after silicone gel?

Silicone should always come first. I apply it and wait for it to dry and moisturize everywhere else around it. Then go back and Moisturize my scar area if I want to. (I also use Hydroboost!)
