I didn't get to view the broadcast, but I have friends who swore they were stuck as well. Also, In one of his "Experiments" episodes, he uses a video game to supposedly induce a hypnotic trance - It's the "zombie" episode.

I fully believe that Derren's tricks work; there's just no point if we are looking at fakes, and we would have found out by now. I just think that there are probably lots of failed instances which we don't get shown.

this happened to a cousin of mine. but he didn't wake up. he still thinks he's a chicken. 5 years later. we enjoy the eggs though so we are a little hesitant to wake him up out of it.

This isn't " staged " .. This is backed by psychology. It needs some pre-shooting work though. The subject is TOLD that when his hand is pulled, he will go in a deep trance, he just has to believe it, at that moment, half the job is done. If someone believes in hypnosis ( Derren's fans normally do ) They eventually WILL fall in a trance.

No, In an episode a while ago he specifically said why he couldn't do that. Because if he was to do it, and unsuccessfully reawaken them, they would b in a trance forever... Or If you were being hypnotised and something went wrong, no one would be able to help you :l Do wish he would though, would be cool.

If I had hypnotised someone and died quietly then the patient would fall asleep and wake up some time later. If I died choking and screaming then the patient would merely snap out of the trance and react naturally. (Warm clothing and the peaceful setting helped here, (no distraction).... the boy suspended in the zone of deep trance, very nearly asleep.

This can be really unsettling I once accidentally overdosed on morphine and slept for 26 hours straight when I woke up everyone was out and it was dark it really shook me up especially when I looked at my watch and the news and I'd missed a whole day :o
