We had a kid ten years ago that was 165lbs, 70lbs lighter than Derrick go for 264 in the first half in a playoff game! He spent halftime at the hospital suffering from dehydration, came back half way through the third quarter and proceeded to run for an additional 210 yards! It was a state record!

Don’t forget that they also had the Henry rule during his highschool career which meant if his team was up by 20 they had to sit him. Just imagine if the guy played the whole game he would have 800 yards per game😂

I remember reading an article about Henry that highlighted some of the poor people who had to get run over by him in HS. Like, this is Derrick Henry one of the best RBs in the NFL today, the man trying to tackle him is Dave he sells real estate now.

Yulee is not in Jacksonville Florida, but he played against the schools in Jacksonville and it was like watching a bowling ball go down the lane and leaving pins scattered. Most parents would complain about him being too big and all of them wanted to see his birth certificate.

In HS coaches play ppl at 2 positions cuz only the kids that their parents help the school or are friends with the coaches, etc. Only those kids get to play it's bs tbh. I was better than most the team but just bcuz my parents didn't know the coaches like buddies or help the school I didn't even get to play only if we was winning by alot or loosing by alot. They only played like 15 kids out of the whole team of like 30 just bcuz of favoritism it's dumb. Idk if every other highschool is like that but around here it is.

It was so bad our football team got canceled cause lack of kids joined but junior year they fired everyone and had a clean slate and got new equipment new coaches and football team came back, they change the tone very quick and had a huge increase in amount of kids join back and had a successful year didn’t make it to state but won 2 playoff games which was 2 more then then entire school history so far. The difference it makes when you don’t play favorites and actually make them work for their spot on the team without promising them they gonna start no matter what

If other schools start putting a defensive end at running back, I'm sure we would see more performances like this. It's not that crazy considering he's one of the bigger, more athletic kids on the field and you put him at running back. Smaller kids can't tackle that. Now, the fact that it translated to him having the NFL career he's had is impressive.

Last year on JV we played a kid that was fast as hell and was bigger than half of our O-Lineman. We wrapped him up at first but after a while he kinda wore down and injured the D-Line. We ended up losing 14-6, which is amazing that we could hold that dude to only two TDs.

I am from Jacksonville and I watched his high-school games. He was/is a physical and athletic freak. I always felt so bad for the 140-150/lb high-school DBs and safeties who had to serve as Henry's speedbumps.
