Derrick White is one of the most underrated players in the NBA, some top 100 lists left him off completely, but he's easily a top 50 player in the league, I wouldn't be shocked if he gets votes for an All Star bid this year. As the starting 2 guard on the best team in the league, he's averaging 16.5 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists on 49% shooting and 43% from 3, and that's not even mentioning that he's one of the best defensive guards in the NBA he averages over a steal and a block per game. His offensive production is extremely impressive considering who he shares the starting lineup with, and he's just so incredibly efficient for a guard shooting almost 50% and 43% from 3.

He’s just a straight up baller man. Literally does everything on both sides of the court. I love watching him play and I’m so glad he plays for the Cs.

he does but unfortunately there are too many elite guards. he'd have to beat out hali, brunson, trae, dame, maxey and spida

@uhh_brandon I'm becoming confident the coaches will vote him in. Alot of those elite guards are deserving cause of their ppg averages but none are doing anything remotely close to White on defense. We'll see though

@@uhh_brandon I just think it's weird that more people dont understand White is an elite guard. Like, Dame's an all-timer, and Hali is a stud; but none of the other PGs in the East play anywhere near the kind of defense that White does, and White can still throw in 28 when the team needs it, with ridiculous efficiency.

D White is the legit Swiss army knife for the team. He has no real flaw in his game. Shoots at a good clip, good passer, awesome defender, gets rebounds, and is a good decision maker.

D White is legitimately as close to a perfect 6'4" basketball player as you can get. There's just no glaring flaw that you can say you're giving up when he's on the floor.

People have to realize Stevens traded Smart because Dwhite needed to be unleashed. Dwhite was sitting on the bench last season because Smart wasn't willing to reduce his role, even though Dwhite was playing better and was the better fit with the Jays

If the Clippers deal didn’t fall through we probably would have still have Smart but not Jrue. I actually like the fact that Smart was traded for D. White to become a starter and also open up a spot for the Jrue trade.

They brought Jrue & KP to be the 3rd/4th options behind Tatum & Brown but White has been the 3rd option and some games the 2nd. But the most important thing is his consistency, he is going to impact the game no matter what. THE BEST ROLE PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE.

Who would have thought that two years ago D White would become a better three point shooter than Tatum who seemingly keeps getting worse as a jump shooter the more he lifts and puts on weight?

He did put on more weight, but still settles for 3's instead of taking it strong to the hole.

Being stronger is not Tatum's issue - stopping the ball and settling for low percentage shots is his issue. When he plays in the offense, he's unstoppable, inside or outside.

@@RCandFishing I mean, the Celtics offense is built around the 3. It's just that the scheme is about getting and taking good looks - Tatum gets in these stretches where decides to walk the ball up, tries to clear everyone out, let's the defense know he is never going to pass it, fakes penetration, and then settles for a contested three. When he's open, he's a sniper, but to get open, he needs to actually play with the rest of the squad.

DERRICK WHITE >>>>> Marcus Smart by a mile. He is the reason this team is doing great obviously those trades for Jrue and KP are the main reason but White is the glue guy that picks up the slack anytime somebody is off that game, defense, playmaking, scoring. He is good good.
