I've had 3 insurers on my Florida home leave the state, and with just a handful left to choose from, I'm now paying 5 times what I did in 2008! And instead of doing something to help this untenable situation, our governor is too busy trying to become the nation's first fascist dictator.

So glad we sold our house 2 years ago and got out. The friends and relatives we have there who are homeowners are complaining about these things now. I hope Florida gets better leaders soon but that will be difficult bc there are many MAGAQ folks there and gerrymandering.

After paying almost triple my previous years premium, my insurance company told me I would have to cut the trees near my property or else they would drop me. I have no trees on my property. All those trees belong to my neighbors. So I have to pay thousands of dollars to cut their trees or find a new carrier. Unfortunately my neighbors insurance company's aren't taking on new insureds. Great idea.....reduce consumer protections in an effort to keep insurers in the state. What that obviously leads to is insurance companies offering worthless policies that they know they can collect premiums on, never pay out claims and their customers will have no recourse. Limiting the ability to sue insurance companies isn't a solution, it's just a new problem
