I just came home from my night time spanish class and was so confused why they were using the verb hacer to describe the weather. I couldn't get how "to do or to make" had anything to do with the weather. Well leave it to my good friend Dr Danny Evans to explain it in his video. Now it makes sense to me, the weather "is doing" something. Once again Dr Evans you got my head to stop spinning, Muchas Gracias .

I'm taking a Spanish II class online and am experiencing this SAME situation. I thought learning the weather and seasons sounded so pleasant until two pages into the text my brain is reeling and I couldn't wrap my head around even the basic expressions. I've tried to continue the reading and the panic just kept rising that I couldn't comprehend what I was trying to read. If I had to go through the whole course in that way I'm certain I would bomb. The text is too much at once to process efficiently. This video saved me for this first week/unit of the class. I'm so grateful. I'll be looking for other videos to help me study.

Thank you! I just listened to 2 other weather videos, which were both really good too, but yours really explained the conjugations (using hacer) and clarified how each of the 2 ways to say the same things meant which way in English. Thank you! That helped a lot.

Dr Danny Evans, there you are!!!!! i am not sure why, but The Spanish Tutor does not show up together with the videos of Que Hora Es. You are the only Spanish teacher i saw who has enough knowledge who can empower your student to gain a bird's eye view of the language, you are the only one on KZfaq and you even out-do the audio books i tried out there. So this is where I can find you, haha. After the 7 episodes of Que Hora Es, I felt like i wanted to attend a Master Class if you had one, so I tried to check the list of Master Class. You deserve to be hailed as one of the Masters. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GIFT OF LANGUAGE!!!!!! I am a Filipino, and in seven episodess of your sessions, i improved several steps ahead. I love the casual assumption at around 1:20 that "do or make" are two synonyms! One can imagine a culture existing in which "doing" emphatically meant acting without changing anything in the environment, and "make" was the opposite -- at which point it becomes clear that such a culture ain't us!

Hello Danny! I am a native Spanish speaker. The way I say is “Cómo está el tiempo?” And not “Como hace el tiempo?” The phrase “Como hace…” is very strange to me. “Hace calor” is said in my former country of Paraguay, but we never say "Como hace el tiempo?", which indirectly implies "How is the weather making?"

We use "hasta" to say "until" as in "hasta luego" (see you later). Hace is what somone or something is doing, like the weather. Hace sol

Bilirkişi değilim tabiki ama öğrendiğim kadarıyla "ll" in telaffuzu ülkeden ülkeye hatta ülke içerisinde de değişiklik gösteriyor. İspanya ve Meksika'nin bir bölümünde "y" olarak telaffuz edilirken Kolombiya'da daha çok "j/c“ arası bi ses oluyor. Hatta Arjantin ve Uruguay taraflarında "ş" olarak tellafuz ediliyor.
