I see these and think, "The cable mess would drive me crazy", but then figure that they've been that way for years, a perfectly working setup undisturbed by each person assigned to the outpost. If it "just works", why risk rendering inoperable what might be the most important outpost left on Earth?

Hi there! I have an idea. A very windy setting. Like in a lighthouse on a shore or a base in the ocean both during a storm. With waves crashing, rain and wind hitting hard against the outpost. I used to live in a place like that, it gave me so much peace.

Getting vibes of a repurposed fire-lookout tower. Love it, with the added subtle ambience like the typing and the occasional barking and alike. Being in the desert, now i could imagine one at a rough coastline :-D

I can tell the radio chatter is from Ham operators on HF, but you do a great job of blending the rest of the sounds so you can't quite pick out the call signs to do an FCC license search. Good for protecting the operator's privacy while getting some authentic chatter in there. The one conversation between the RI and GA operators about 3 minutes in where the Georgia fellow said he was using an End Fed Half Wave wire antenna reminds me that I need to get my EFHW strung up for my HF radio.
