Love this true offroader since launch in India. Gypsy- jimny From Arunachal Pradesh

This will be my first car at 27. I was going to buy a Scorpio N but went for this instead. At first I didn't even want a car with today's traffic and I live in Mumbai mainly. Since last 4 years I've only used public transit and bike in Mumbai and everyone who used a 4 wheeler in Mumbai told me not to get one so I was pretty hesitant. Hence I bought a Himalayan instead but now I've booked a top model Ginny with some accessories for when I just need a 4 wheeler for transportation on road and for weekend off-roading/long drives/camping etc.

So you don't like skinny tires? Check out the LandCruiser 70 series tire size. Do you still think Suzuki screwed up or do skinny tires have it's advantages. Once you go for bigger tires you are overloading the suspension and the drive train. You can't have pickup and torque at the same time with a 1.5L engine. Something has to give. It will outperform the Thar in every department, especially reliability. It's a small compact car for a small family with a toddler in the back seat or a dog. In short it's a "Thar Killer" and I love it.

A perfect opinion of gimny i think it will very helpful for those people who know terminology of vehicle and its uses so they will be buy a perfect offroader as per budget.

This car is for the people living in extreme areas. Offroader with petrol engine. Others can go with Scorpio N variants.

This will be very good for mountains, especially our northern and north-eastern areas. Overall this car not so promising when compared to average fuel economy and highway drive capabilities.

For average height INdia the space should not be problem. Bhai aapke height aur size ke liye wrangler and defender best hai 😃

All over jimny he best hai mere hisab se , Qki 5 door hai ,boot space hai , sasti off roader hai , milage bhi thar se jyada hai ,roof bhi steel ki hai , size bhi acha hai ,traffic or streets main maje se nikal jayegi 😊

The only benefit of buying jimny over thar is it's 5 door . Rest things is better in Thar than this. it's comfort ,ride ,tire size ,space is lower than Thar.

Indian Army will buy tens of thousands of these vehicles. Few years after Gypsy production was stopped by Maruti in India, due to new new engine pollution control rules, the Indian Army made request to Government of India to give special one time waiver to Maruti to produce several thousand green coloured Gypsy for Indian Army, especially since the Gypsy worked exceptionally well in high Himalayan India China border regions, as well as in Rajasthan desert sand dune areas. Even though the pollution ban was by Supreme Court of India, but due to defence of India urgent requirement and these vehicles being used on borders of India, the Indian government disregarded Supreme Court judgement and gave special waiver to Maruti to produce several thousand more Gypsy for Indian Army.

Hi,I am really confused between Fortuner petrol and Gloster, is the Gloster reliable enough and worth taking over fortuner petrol?(I live in NCR and Gloster coming in diesel is my biggest concern).I really want the features and comfort,specially the third row,I will mostly sit in the 2nd row but the diesel report for 2027 and Question on reliability of Gloster is Stopping me.(mileage is not a big issue and daily running would be approximately-40km).If you could pls advise me on this?

Great little toy SUV Not at all suitable for us. A family of 5 persons with a German shepherd. This car has way too less space. Best suitable as a secondary SUV used for weekend off-road sessions. Eagerly waiting for 5 door thar.

Thar is just a showoff thats neither do justice in highways not offraods. This one at least better during offraoding and will be a gem for mountain people.
