I like these tips! And thank you for not shaming people who make more humanized versions of the animatronics, I've seen way too many people shame others for simply not making them 100% canon. I myself make more humanized versions of the animatronics, mostly because it's simpler to make and I'm not that great with making 100% canon designs that isn't PPG or PPGZ.

HEAVY on the point about neon colours! I could rant for hours about how neon colours are important in character design, and I absolutely hate this community's general aversion to them.

For the ones that use illusion discs, I just assume that, for example, when scrap baby uses an illusion disc, she will look like Elizabeth Afton, but she's still a gigantic hunk of metal under the illusion. You get what I mean? Like when someone hugs her, what they see is Elizabeth, but what they feel when they touch her is scrap baby's leg or her claw or something, instead of a human little girl.

Simple explantation of illusion disks if u dont wanna read the books: Illusion disks are made to be used to make things look more alive, like char bot. They can be altered in some ways to make you have a certain look, but they do NOT make the aftons look human (if they are in animatronics.) You cannot put illusion disks on souls. If you want to make it so that illusion disks can make people look alive, go right ahead! But the cannon illusion disks only make things look more human by putting out a soundwave at a frequency we can't hear. This also means that If mike is a rotting corpse, you would be able to reach into the hole in his stomach while he has the illusion disk on. With that being said, go nuts. It's ur Au. Just... maybe don't stray TO far from cannon! another example if if u use mikevictim/ mikebot! The illusion disks could be used on mike to make him look more human like char bot! This still wouldn't mean it turns him conpletely human. Anyways there u go!

FINALLY someone points out the communities misunderstanding of illusion discs. I was thinking about making a video where I just rant about the Gacha X FNaF Community. Y'all think I should go for that?

One thing I did for funsies,was making William and Henry’s design styles completely different…William’s resembles real life 80s animatronics while Henry’s is more similar to 90s animatronics

Very helpful tips! Thank you so much for this, I love your designs. I’ve avoided making Fnaf gacha ocs because I’m not educated on the fandom despite watching videos about it, I was waiting until I read all of the books and had a good understanding before I posted anything in fear of it not being canonically correct. Though I do stray away from canon traits and such, I still like to keep it somewhat true to the story, especially design wise.

*Warning(?): this comment is for the chat itself, not to offend the creator,in fact this is not to offend anyone,if the creator does end up reading this, thank you! ;* For anyone wondering: about if the animatronics should be scary or not it’s YOUR choice, personally I want to make them unsettling since the lore is very unsettling/confusing, but if you want to make them kid friendly there’s no problem! As i understand that if you want to humanize them some more, it’s a little difficult, I recommend you to make them unsettling/uncomfortable since 80-90s animatronics were unsettling but children liked them if you can don’t try to make them scary, as they’re still for kids but don’t make them Too friendly. To make them look like an uncomfortable setting try to make weird proportions for example: Make they’re heads smaller than the body,make small eyes (mainly color it black if your in gacha club and if it’s Gacha life 2 make the sclera(?) white and the rest black make big mouths with teeth if you’re in gacha life 2 if you want you can also give them faded red stains on they’re clothes/faces since they’re killer animatronics (it’s optional). If you want to make them kid friendly you can add faint but bright colors, add things like bows,mustaches, glasses, but don’t add to much as then it would look “exaggerated”. I think that’s all I have to say for now, I will add more tips for if anyone has doubts 👍

So, not a good reference, but for me with illusion disks, i assume its like the Conjuring 'The Devil Made me do It' where you can see the little boys body, but the invisible demon around him, when he gets dragged down the stairs in the first part of the movie, its like a hologram that surrounds a character and changed their look, while still have the same thing over it, just invisible.

An argument about the color theory part: I don’t believe in color theory because I figured out that anything goes well as long as you don’t mess it up to the point of no return. For example: Let’s say you have a mostly green background, and a white character that is wearing red with and orange, along side blue shoes. Yes that obviously obscures the focus a lot. Now take that same thing and put a darker skinned version of that person and and have a red background with blues and greens with a pink shoe. Once again, obviously obscures the focus. But for some odd reason, the the darken skinned person with the opposite color pallet situation looks better (in my opinion) than the lighter color pallet, but it’s literally the same scenario but swapped. Therefore, color theory stuff is completely subjective to one’s opinion about scenery and scenario. That also goes into patterns, I can make sequin teal jeans that has stars on them and a red and pink striped sweater rock but on someone else’s body, it doesn’t work because of skin tone and facial and body shape. If you were to put me in a green room, I would look funny, but if I was in a teal room, I would look perfectly fine (my opinion). Same thing goes to the other person, but they may actually look better in the green room with the outfit, than in the teal room. All in all, this is why I don’t believe in color theory. Yes I used very rigid examples, but that was to make things simpler to the eye. Sorry about the rant, it was kinda ick-picking me so I kinda had to rant about it. That is all, if you have questions, I will be happy to answer. :)

This is just a little thing I did with my au but My dead characters look like the first type, they have what I named a remnant disk or time disk (haven’t got a set name) but it’s basically Mike and William took the illusion disk and made it more advanced so it changes them back. Lol if anyone has any idea of how to better this idea or wants to use the idea or take inspiration from it idm
