I cannot get over having to scan a QR code and watch an ad in order to get three squares of toilet paper... ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!! That is so messed up!!!
@paladestar9758

That's just a recent evolution on a previous design. They used to have a problem with people stealing toilet paper from public toilets in China. People wanted it at home, but didn't want to pay for it, or couldn't afford it, so they just stole whole rolls from public toilets. The original design was based on facial recognition, you got three sheets and your face was locked-out from being able to get more for a few hours!

As infuriating as that outlet placement is, there is actually a legitimate reason for it. The boxes that house power outlets and light switches have to be mounted to the wooden studs inside the wall, so that's more an issue of the decorative wall design not lining up with the wall studs.

The "orange drink" reminds me of the Top Gear (Burma special) where they bought some local liquors, one said "White Spirits" right on the front. But it had all these frills on the label and really did blend right in with the styling of the couple other bottles of liquor they bought. In 1996, Disney World in Florida had a hidden design feature for the Sky Tram cable car ride. I don't know if it's still there now but...While standing in line for the ride, there are two massive concrete pillars. The pillars are very close together and force people to squeeze between them in order to continue. You can't go around the pillars and even though I'm 6'2" 190lbs I had to pass through sideways. Sad part is that, in regards to the 'anti homeless' designs, it would actually be far far cheaper to actually help them instead. But people are so spiteful they take the expensive option because they likely don't like how they look. Or want to punish them for having the audacity to be homeless.
@SuitAndTieGuy88
@SuitAndTieGuy88 Жыл бұрын
Most homelessness is caused by severe addiction or severe mental problem, you can't just give them a house or money. People have been trying to help them for years and the more they do the worse it gets and the more homelessness there is. you should check out some deep dives into homelessness because businesses not wanting people sleeping at their door, shooting up and pooping on their sidewalks is the least of a business owners rights. It is true there's a massive issue where I am with the homeless cr@ck heads and junk135. I have become homeless for the 1st time ever by total accident due to a miscommunication between where I'm from and we're I moved to and as I have very serious life long mental health and am registered the highest 5u1c1d£ risk they have in the area with no support and no one caring enough to raise/report/check welfare or missing person etc etc suddenly after I used to get regular welfare checks. I've never done dr**s or even smoked and never been alcoholic, I'm 35 single female with o family or anything. All these dirty scabby cr4ck heads etc get offered temp housing just to cause problems, theifing, freeloading begging off hard working tax payers who have children to feed just to go straight to their dealers as soon as they've begged enough out off these niece families instead of trying to help themselfs. Can't even save a quid to get a pot noodle from Poundland because their drugs are more important. Same with thiething and shop lifting. They use the food banks and local day center and soup kitching plus freeload food from local takeaway restaurant who is not there to be giving free food away like that but they THINK they just helping. They can't be bothered to try help themselfs in anyway. They aren't starving at all and alot get benefits. They have hotels doors kicked through police and other druggies after them they make out they have mental health which is only rooted by their drug use and if they bother to clean up they'd be ok and able to get jobs etc but they won't because as they even admit they like taking advantage of the system and th mental health teams and police welfare checks and think it's funny when there's guenuin struggling high risk individuals left forgotten to rot unable to gain support even dying as the services drop everything and go running to these freeloading wasters that aren't such a risk and have others looking out for them. It's disgusting. They p155 and 5h17 all over the place when there is access to toilets about and j4ck up in broad daylight while children walk by. Even in the local grave yard and in the driveway of local funeral directors. They have no care for anything they are disgusting vermin

As far as the orange packages- one thing average people often overlook when it comes to “lazy” or “unnecessary” design is that they are most likely made for people with disabilities. Yes, oranges have their own packaging, but a person with mobility issues is going to have a hard time getting it off. The same thing is true about sock applicators, or self twirling forks. It's like the omission a company once discovered when an external firm audited their backup policy, and found that every single one of the backup tapes they'd been sending to archive - Daily by courier for at least a decade, and all tapes having been reported as correctly written when the backup process happened - Were all blank. 😳 On further investigation it turned out there was a semantic error in the script which assembled files to be backed-up and then passed them on to the tape writing program, resulting in no files being selected for writing to tape. The _success_ message that was being seen each day was from the writing program, which - Of course - Being given zero bytes of data to write to the tape had _successfully_ written zero bytes. Every time. For over a decade... 📼 Zero bytes written of zero bytes provided *isn't* an error (At least not to the computer) and if a statement like _Zero grams of sugar per zero cups of coffee consumed_ sounds valid to a computer, chances are a judge might look at it the same way if it was ever bought to a court... 😉

No matter how top rated a designer is and how many rave about them, clear instructions must be given on what needs to be done and what Can't be done. Thank you so much, for taking on greenwashing, both in marketing and in corporate statements! We need more of that... As for some of the other monstrosities in the video, I would guess that at least some of them are the result of a non-designer boss forcing the actual designer to do something stupid, and not allowing the designer to explain why it's such a horrible idea. Happens all the time, right?

For EU people out there, if a website tries that stupid shit just remember EU GDPR have Consent rules, which includes; *Consent must be “freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous.” *Data subjects can withdraw previously given consent whenever they want, and you have to honor their decision. You can’t simply change the legal basis of the processing to one of the other justifications. And other things, if you want to pursue a legal case. Disclaimer not a legal advice.

If the port was placed at the front of the mouse, it'd be very easy to just leave the mouse plugged in all the time, and that wouldn't make the mouse very magical, u see where I'm going ryt? If the mouse had it's charging cable on the front, people would just assume it's an ordinary wired mouse, rather than a wireless one. There was the similar situation with the Apple Watch when it first came out. The bands were pre-attached in the packaging with the watch, so many didn't even realize the bands were removable

The Baltorina's Dolls that are supposed to be lifelike and 3-6 months of age being packaged in clear plastic totes with locking lids (a green one on each side) is just creepy AF!!! It begs the question where exactly did the product designer come up with that concept?!? 🤨 A fake baby may be a lot less hassle than a real infant - BUT - I'm concerned this packaging idea could be seen as a "suggestion" when caring for a living, breathing infant that's fussy. No good can come of that design in the real world. None. In my not so humble opinion. Good grief. 🤯 ~ APRIL LIPKE
