I hope you enjoy this timelapse of my design process of a longhouse/town hall for my worldbuilding project Skarthavik.
The timelapse shows most of the process, including sketching, 3D blockout, coloring and shadows.
If you are curious to see more of the project as well as voiced tutorials, check out the other videos on my channel and mortenkrebs.com
Thanks for checking it out and please leave a like and comment if you have any feedback or questions!

I love your art, it's really inspiring! I do hope to see a few more of these with voice-over, I loved the squid house ones. I do have a question though, what's that music you have playing in the background? Where can I find it?
@Montinovich
@Montinovich 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I definitely want to keep going with voiced tutorials in the future :) I don't remember the exact song for the background music, but I found it by searching google for something like "free medieval background music". Hope that helps ^^'

how long did this whole process take you? I'm so glad I found your channel. it came at the perfect time since I'm trying to learn how to draw better concept art (as someone who cannot draw but does 3d model). you're seriously underrated- keep up the amazing work

Hey I just found this channel and I'm loving it so far. You are so talented and I could watch your videos all day. Only one little piece of feedback regarding the video itself: when videos are this long, listening to the same background song again and again on a loop can be a little bit tiring. You could try and use 2-3 different themes throughout it. There's lots of free music channels out there, check out Ivan Duch or Alexander Nakarada for example :) Anyway these are great quality work, keep it up! I just liked all of them & subscribed

I love being able to see the inspiration images you used during the design process. Is that a feature from the drawing software you’re using or a separate app you used to view all of your reference images in the collage on the side? Great video btw :)!

It's the symmetry function in Photoshop :) when you have the brush or similar selected there should appear a button to activate it near the top in any new-ish version of Photoshop. It's pretty useful!

how much time do you think it saves when modeling first then drawing after it.
@Montinovich
@Montinovich 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely a lot! It's both easier to experiment and explore different designs quickly, and much easier to draw over so you can focus completely on design and lineart and not proportions and perspective etc
