I'm not a regular guitar player, I just love a guitar sound and I'm just a guy with a guitar who can't play. I have read a couple of books on electronics. These books are Tietze Schenk's electronic circuits and Oppenheim Signals and Systems. This is all u need to start in electronics.

Thanks so much for making these tutorial! I understand the basic behaviour of each block, and i want to try a simple simulation in LTSPice, but i don't have the knowledge to select the appropiate values for the resistors, capacitors, etc. Would you mind sharing these information about this simple design? Check out the preamp of the Gibson Lab L5 amp . That is one of my favorite solid state amps . It was used by B.B.King .

The signal will be shorted to ground because the diodes are connected in parallel in opposite polarities. There will be no output.

Diodes have resistance! This resistance is not a constant. Read about IV curve and differential resistance. With best regards. TonyD.

No distortion is not ideal, jazz tones do not sound good.
