Over and over the world and devil and flesh will try and convince us that we can't be satisfied in Christ but only in other things. I have experienced much hedonism in this life. I have concluded that it is vain deceit. After 30 years of following Christ the pull is still there to try and find satisfaction is something besides Christ. AS the song goes: "All my soul has tried has left a dismal void, Jesus has satisfied, Jesus is mine".

I could listen to John Piper exalt Christ anytime and everyday

Pray for me. I feel im being oppressed or possessed. As a Christian I went into occult I told God to leave me alone. I since I have repented. But I'm being attacked. Afraid I lost my salvation. I have never been “satisfied” with God. I follow Jesus because His gospel is truth. God is glorified when we are obedient. Our level of satisfaction is dependent on feelings that change with the wind.

At first glance...easy to misunderstand Christian Hedonism...just need to listen closely to see what Pastor John means.

Piper, do you ever worry that your over-the-top invective against Donald Trump could be be dog-whistle to violence? If being anti-Trump is more “precious” than life and freedom? You tell me. I hope for your sake that Trump remains safe despite continued threats. The guilt you would have would be horrible. I’ve tried in vain to look for a parallel statement from the right and I come up empty handed. Can you help me? Has any conservative ever stated that being against a particular candidate is more important than freedom and even life itself?

Piper’s Christianized hedonism is a fraud and a cheap gimmick. And “God is most glorified in us when we’re most satisfied in Him?” Give me a break. God’s glory functions independently of our “satisfaction”. The assertion is ridiculous.

John you are a genius … I have often thought of the joy I feel when in the worst of times I’m somehow miraculously inspired to give thsnks to god fir giving me the gift of being able to give thanks when it seems impossible - immediately all things change… snyway I feel a nexus powerful with what you say … my experience it occurs usually when everythibg is hopeless- easy to praise god when things are well but when all hope seems lost -wgat a gift!
