The reason this one works, is that it's a good song to begin with. The production is annoyingly smooth, the sexism is dripping on the floor and it's all a big horrible mess, but it's a good song. Making for a good cover. It's a good melody, a nice hook with the slow down, interesting chord progression to the second part of the chorus. It's just a well written song. A well deserved one hit wonder, honestly.

I learned that there are no bad songs but bad artists, I would dare to say that any "shitty song" that is succesful is actually good and the problem is the artist. Take for example "toxic" by britney spears and listen the Melanie Martinez cover.

Well done chaps! I always thought this should be done. 10 Second Songs did a 20 styles cover of this in which one of his styles was Sublime, and I wished he had done a full cover in that style but he never did. Nice to hear you guys do it!

i fucking this song, but this cover... as a ska lover abd bassist i can only say this cover is really good.... very latin ska sound... en español para todos los idiotas que dicen que se la cagaron, apuesto que si este cover fuera la versión original, a muchos les gustaria, hay que aceptar que la original es una mierda pegajosa pero este cover esta bien echo, musicalmente.

Eylan Boza G pues a mí me gusta muchísimo más esta que la original. Aparte que la original la pusieron hasta en la sopa. Prefiero más este estilo y esta versión, también porque me gustan más este tipo de canciones que al reggaeton.
