There will be. At the reveal they promised more cinematic cutscenes, a bunch more. And to be honest I agree. I on;y wanted the cutscenes so the story could be told the best way possible past me just shooting stuff and looking at my ship

See, I'll admit that their comments only made me cautiously optimistic. "More cinematics than we've ever had in a Destiny game" isn't saying a whole lot. But I trust that the studio has put a lot of focus into giving us a compelling, story-driven campaign that delivers where the first game sorely lacked.

That's the impression I'm getting too. I'm also forward to NPCs talking to us in-world and in combat, like in the European Dead Zone. I see that as a huge step forward.

Gotta admit I was never truly a fan of Zavala, always just kinda thought he was boring. Bungie, for me atleast, has done a great job of making him more interesting and these cut scenes are fantastic!

The village battle with Zavala, Shaxx, and Saladin was great. I think Zavala is the only vanguard that doesn't have a decently explained past, so it's cool to see this. I also thought it was cool that Amanda Holliday made a cameo as a kid at the end.

I heard the news. I really am gonna miss him. Lance Reddick was honestly one of my favorite actors. This, John Wick, etc, I always loved it when he popped up. This also hurts a lot cause I’m a Titan main and now I know what it’s like to lose your vanguard Hunters. Rest in peace Lance, for as all of us say, you have become legend. R.I.P. Commander Zavala / Lance Reddick. Your voice and your speeches will be remembered. As a Titan main, I will do my best to protect the last city and act as an additional wall. As a human, I will never forget you. I played a lot of Destiny 2 when I went through very hard times so I could temporarily hop into a world full of adventures and interesting stories. I was extremely lost in life and desperate. Had nothing and no one to help me. Destiny helped me keep my mental health together. Now I finally made it through the hard times and working so much I barely find the time to even play any games. I haven't played Destiny for almost half a year now. So losing Zavala hits even harder. I'm updating the game right now so I can stand by Zavala for a moment in the tower. That way (and I know how weird this may sound) I can say thank you and farewell to a character who helped me feel like "someone" when no one else did. Farewell, Commander Zavala.

As a forever Titan player, this prelude makes me cry😭. Not only tht, it makes me more understand why destiny world was created. As a Titan, your job is either a frontline assaulters(striker) or becoming a wall that the city needs(defender) and choosing your own paths, lighting up your way(sunbreaker). Besides coming back here for Lance Riddick (RIP Commander), seeing this after watching Amandas Cutscenes and realizing the little girl was Amanda at 2:20 makes me appreciate the story telling of this game.

It is why a lot have continued to play it. The story is rich and lore is deep. It is sad that the Lance Zavala is gone, he truly was the pinnacle for voice acting in this game. For Bungie, I at least do hope we get the Red War campaign back in some fashion. It was some of his best scenes by far. Rest well Lance, and may the light provide Guardians.
