The ghost were for all the gaurdians lost to error code cat

The discarded ghost shells are all probably referencing Guardians using customized shells instead of the white generalist shell

I busted up laughing at the thought of cats actually preying on strey ghost who don't have a guardian or a guardian randomly losing light on a triple jump/float. All because some cats were bored.

I feel that there are 1 of 2 reasons the cats are there with dead Ghosts. 1. Cats are essentially Kleptomaniacs and will hoard different things around a home. So the Ghosts could be just that, a cats collection. 2. (Spinfoil time) It's something to do with The Nine The obvious connection of cats having nine lives and The Nine aside, There is several references to Cats through out anything Awoken, Season of the Wish has us finding star cats, there are the 9 cat statues you can give a "Small Gift" to in the Dreaming City that give an emblem called "Ennead". Ennead itself means "A group of nine", There's a ghost projection called "Ennead Projection" which show the symbols of The Nine, and the Equitis Shade Rig from Spire of Stars says "Texts about the vast ennead, trapped reaching out." which is exactly what The Nine are. The Nine also wish to be real and have physical forms and believe the Light is the way to do that.

In that secret room, there is a table with the mark of the awoken on it, you can see the cloth and the gold markings on it. This table is actually the table that Petra Venj stood at in the D1 Y1 Queens Wrath event. Its the exact same table you can look it up.

I think that Hall of Champions is actually inside the old Tower, you can tell it by the structure itself. It has been rebuilt, that's why I suppose that room is still destroyed and in ruins.

The maps remind me of Cayde’s old treasure maps from D2’s launch. Like it’s a bunch of old things from Destiny that have been removed over the years, including Calus’ sweeper bot by the fans

My little theory is that the dilapidated "faction room" is bungie little nod to the Destiny Content Vault, since you can also fine the old "adventures" quest starters, the swords that you would find to start the old adventures.

they forgot to put colliders on pretty big parts of the walls in the room with the giant fans, the smaller fans have 0 collision and you can jump right through them.

Cats hoarding the ghosts reminds of d1 when we would find random ghost shells to collect.

When I was there about 6 hours after launch, the cats were in different locations. Still in those hidden areas, but not same spots as captured in these clips. When I went back with a friend, again differences and the cats were also different colours then I first went there myself. Neat!

Considering I’m CONSTANTLY finding my socks in places they don’t belong, because of my cats….I absolutely believe they are up to something nefarious

@ 2:33 I couldn't find the cat, so I jumped to the wall on the left, to the grill above the fans...and slipped out of the main room, into a glitch room, which is actually behind the mirror in the Faction Room (yeh, Dead Orbit! lol)...and then I found myself outside of the game architecture; I could see structures from the outside-looking in, including the sweeper bot fan area. I know there be Guardians who love this sort of stuff...to explore...but, not for this old tortoise! I took pics and some vid, too! Cheers!

Considering Zero Hour is in a part of the city wall it could be something to do with that, like Eris is allowing us to go through our memories to access The Whisper but maybe Zero Hour is a bit more corporeal in how its relevant again

that area is a d1 storage area, it has the queen's wrath table, vanguard table, kiosks, jukebox, etc

9:37 It looks more like the banner for the dead orbit was originally from the previous banner. Look at the fingers and the wrist bend. The Concordat is dead orbit but not with the same people and such but reminiscent of the old.

In the room before the dead faction room. The fan vents don't have collision and you can get out of map, just like the vents in the first part of the hall.

In the place where you can look out into the open space with stairs and platforms, there was a cat standing next to a stein mug the first time I was there. But it had disappeared

I do want to note this, where he saw the Kiosks from D1, there's a table from the Awoken of the Reef that looks...VERY similar to one you'd find either on your way to Petra back in the Reef outpost, or something else. but I don't know how Shaxx got that, and it worries me that it's there. The cats are instance-bound I think if you reload the instance they move there are like 5 or 6 locations with 2 cats in each instance. I don't think it is a DEAD ghost but actually a ghost toy like the ones near the secret room

The pipes and zavala room according to Froggy are probably dev play areas where they store and play with assets

You can OoB out of the Hall Of Champions from the bottom fan to the left of where the vent tunnel is to Sweeperbot. There's nothing crazy to see OoB except for a room full of weapons to the right of the main hall Shaxx is in. Theres a kill wall between it though so you can get to it. Theres also a kill wall right behind the Superblack shader area, so you can't explore that back room either.

Where the sweeper dude was on the top right was a orange tiger cat for me...

The dead ghost shells are probably referencing the dead ghosts from D1 that unlocked grimoire cards. They had to be stored somewhere.

First I loaded in and looked behind the super black container thing and there was a cat sitting right on the edge looking out the window. Idk if this means anything just thought I'd share

The cat locations are not set in stone. I' have the one under Shaxx too, but in the secret room mine is not by the pile of ghosts, it's up to the right on a ledge

the leader of dead orbit was planning his leave their whole mission/philosophy is outer exploration so when they disbanded they left the system

Interesting... that's the second recent reference to the Concordat faction. A faction that has always been in the lore but was disbanded before the events of the game. That's a dilberate insertion, but why now? And to what end?

That map has clear numbers. We should look into these locations. it might hint at a new location to find and discover parts of the story and be introduced in upcoming dlc.

If you ask me the cat is really creepy. His spawn point moves around and the fact thst hes collecting ghosts shells scares me. What form would be better to stand watch and 'Witness' the hall of champions?

The next logical direction after the end of the light and darkness saga is for us to actually start infighting. If the factions return, if the Concordat exposes something about the Vanguard or the Last City. If Zavala, Ikora, and Cayde end up disbanding the Vanguard. We also have the Nine who have yet to really take center stage. The Drifter and Dredgen Yor. There really are countless ways that humanity could end up in a war with itself, and countless different sides we could find ourselves in that war. Imagine the Crucible no longer exists, but instead Guardians end up fighting other Guardians depending on their faction allegiance. Patrol zones become PvP-enabled, or have areas with PvP. Maybe the "Tower" or whatever social space we have is a neutral territory where fighting is prohibited, but elsewhere, you always have to keep your eyes open and be wary for other Guardians, in addition to the regular threats we face. Something I really wish Bungie would explore with Destiny, but have yet to, is a conflict where we're NOT all on the same side. Faction rallies would then become less about novelty and frivolity, and more about a constant power struggle after the Witness is defeated and the Vanguard disbands, creating a power vacuum.

With all the dead ghosts and maps I’d like to think that broken down area belongs to the guardian who kills ghosts before they get to their new guardians

Is that sweeping robot an Alien 3 easter egg do you think. The one were the alien blinds that dude in the tunnel and he falls into the fans. Very similar angles and look to it and random place for a cleaning bot.

I don't know why people who found this latched on to the faction with the green symbol when that one is just on the wall because it's the only other banner whereas the other banner is much more prominently displayed and when you want to bring something to a player's attention you display an object prominently.but I think they should bring back factions so we can obtain something special again which would be faction exclusive items and shaders.
