I cannot believe they took this campaign out of the game and replaced it with one d1 ‘new light’ mission and threw new players in to the grind immediately. Leveling and progressing during this campaign was immersive and fun. They retconned a ton of this and as a day one player it just blows my mind. Great pace, fun missions, great voice acting and despite the Ghaul final boss being lackluster it was still great. I miss the farm, Io, Titan, Asher, Sloane. I don’t understand the decision. I think playing through the og campaign as a new player would have made much more sense and intro the game properly, like it did for me.

I feel bad for New Lights. They'll never get to do these missions because Bungie decided to get rid of all of it. The Red War campaign will never come back, even if the locations do. It's gone forever and THAT'S a tragedy.

For all the people complaining about this game: do you think Destiny is going to cater to the ones who either didn't play the first one or played for two weeks then quit, yet go online and go on a shitstorm of random complaints saying "it looks the same"; or do you think they are going to cater to the fans like me who actually in joyed the game and played it, when we want to address problems? I keep seeing a lot of comments from people who have never, or barely played the first game trying to compare this to the first one saying it's the exact same because it fallows the same story and path. Do you guys hear yourself? I guess all the Halos were reskins of the first one. And I guess episodes V, VI were just copies of a episode IV for taking off from the same storyline. Because when a new game comes out, we all know it has to be a 100% different setting, 100% different everything. If anybody wants to read this, feel free to address your concerns with the game down below. Just be fair about it and actually have played the first one of you are going to address concerns about the first one that could be fixed in the second one below my comment. Criticism is good when it's fair and I would enjoy hearing what you liked and dislike about the first one, what you're liking and disliking about this one so far. Debate it out if you have to. this looks like it has some Halo Reach vibes to with the ambiance, lighting, and the story kinda. Bad guys destroy your home and you reclaim it with immense sacrifice(losing all gear and powers etc)

Destiny was and still is one of my favorite shooters of all time, I am so excited for this!!!

This is where my hype rocketed into space. Constructive feedback taken from the first Destiny looks to have made a sequel that at least lacks some of the problems of the first. More engaging story, a cinematic experience, more work pulled from a solid cast with splendid animation matching the dialogue, gunplay looks tightened and our loadout a little more customizable, a weapon for each class (at least with base element specialization) with more ways to attack, etc. There may still be problems, but they'll mostly be different ones. Hopefully.

It’s just crazy of how long it’s been. As one of the players who played Red War, it was terrifying to see what the Cabal did and I miss the old Tower.

Nostalgia watching this gameplay reveal! I remember being so hyped for Destiny 2! Bungie are the best when it comes to trailers, the trailers for Destiny 2 were all epic, an amazing game. I remember getting the game as a surprise birthday gift from my mom, a real feel good game, the music, gameplay, everything was top notch. Good memories playing it.

Man. This would be the ultimate onboarding for new lights. This mission line was so damn good with real progression, and introduced the cabal in the most awesome way. The quest really felt like a story, none of the "go to the holoprojector" lore dump lazy crap that passes for plot in modern D2. I think I would actually sacrifice either the EDZ or Cosmodrome just to get this back, plus it would get new players hooked enough to actually care about the Destiny universe.

NOW, as long as the ENTIRE CAMPAIGN is on this level of intensity and storytelling and lasts at least 7 hours long like your average bungie halo game did, then this will EASILY be one of the best games of the year. It'll have a worthy narrative experience, multiplayer, AND all the extra bonuses of strikes, raids, patrols, exotic weapon hunting, bonus quests, etc. that the first game was full of.

I would love to play this mission to crack open some nostalgia every now and again. Hell it's own Campaign list a bit like they did for Witch Queen recently, especially a Legendary difficulty to give it some more bite with the new shit we got now.

I don't understand what these DLC comments are trying to get across.... From a definition standpoint, this game is a stand alone game which means you don't need the base game to play it. And from the standpoint as just an addition to Destiny 1; well isnt that the point of Destiny 2? Its the second game in the trilogy. The characters are the same characters. They have the same powers. Its like saying Halo 2 is the DLC of Halo: combat evolved.....

The Cabal attack scene was epic!, the soundtrack was very well put together

At 4:25 when Ikora is like, "And you will find no mercy in me!" If they edit her voice to sound more intense they can make the nova bomb so much more badass then it already was.

I'm pissed that I had to wait until the sequel to see what was behind that door in Tower North when the map as well as the game world implied that it was fully formed and modeled. I bought nearly every expansion pack hoping that new areas in the Tower would be unlocked. So we were never meant to explore the whole tower, and if this gameplay is indicative, we never will see the full extent of this place? We'd better be able to explore the Last City in some capacity because they built it up as being the most important place on the whole planet. So far as I've seen though, Earth is only going to be a little important, and you'll be in Europe and not wherever the city is, which some has speculated is somewhere near Nepal or the Himalayas. That's what makes me upset, that we never got to explore the city beyond the Tower and in those two years that I played the game, more actually, I thought that we would get that chance. Based on my research, there's the European Dead Zone, Io, Titan, which somehow was transformed from a freezing moon with Hydrocarbon lakes to an ocean world that Humanity could live on (but magic, whatever), and Nessus, which is a planet that the Vex have already conquered. Also, has there been any indication of the Female Exo that was in the last game? They'd better have her in it. She seemed to be integral to the plot, and indeed the last cutscene in the main game featured her. Personally, if you told me this was an expansion pack, I'd believe you. We're kind of beyond the graphical leaps that were common in early games, because I think we're approaching a graphical plateau, and in terms of 'prettifying', this isn't impressive, because it's not as easy to do the jump from, say, Halo 1 to Halo 2 to Halo 3 anymore, and to be honest, those games swapped the UI fairly often. I actually think every Halo game to present had some sort of different UI element, but that's what bothers me the least, even though the animations are the same frame for frame and the UI doesn't display the weapon that you're currently holding - a small thing I had a problem with in the last game that I am a little surprised is still in the new game. Gunplay is fine, and the fact that you can carry two primary weapons is interesting, but I look at this as Destiny accepting the standard like in Halo. You could carry two primary weapons in that game, heavy weapon nonwithstanding. I appreciate the cutscenes. It really irked me in the last game that the characters didn't seem heavily invested in the story outside of cutscenes, but I did notice heavy scripted events in the first mission. This being a very story driven part of the game, I can accept that for this mission, but I would like to see if this keeps up for the duration of the campaign. I also would like to see if the game actually focuses more on the Traveller as it is considered the central Christ-figure of the Guardians' religion. I left Destiny with no greater idea about what the Guardian was outside of the Grimoire, what it really wanted, with only an implication that it had the Fallen as previous agents before Humanity. So what do I want from this game? Answers to the great big story you've set up. If you want me to become a repeat customer, you need to actually entice me with a story that sheds light on your foundation. Great gunplay is nice, and this is arguably the best aspect of Destiny, because it sure wasn't the story, but that can only take me so far. If anything, the multiplayer will keep me, but I haven't seen anything like that. I still haven't forgotten about The Last Word, Bungie, and that ridiculous Exotic quest, but thanks for the Suros Regime. My first exotic drop. Also, I'd like answers about Xur, and given the fact that we're going to Titan as well as Io, we may actually get some answers, but I'm pissed that Mercury is off the map considering that it was heavily implied to be a Vex fortress nearly to the core. So what is my first impression of this? Balanced. I am open to this, but the things that fell short in the last game keep me cautious. But if you have raid matchmaking, you're one step closer to me getting the credit card out.

I got this game around 2020 (yeah I know late to the party) but I played D1 and I was keen to play this campaign as I remembered it from all the trailers When I got D2 I found that it had been taken out. I’ll never be able to play this and it makes me really sad
