You do need a well-rolled exotic, but rarely a perfect one if you have enough armor saved up. Don't forget, you can focus specific exotics coming next season!

@@HeathyRoidz best option is the exotic focusing with rahool in the tower, but it is costly. Make sure to have the ghost mod on also!

@@HeathyRoidzif you are talking about reward tiers in nightfalls, you can achieve platinum for killing all champions. This nets you the best rewards (especially in Master/Grandmaster difficulty). Regular strikes won’t have champions.

This reply might be late but... Yes it is still viable. You'll need to wait for Grasp of Avarice to get into rotation, there's a chance it'll get featured each week, and if it is featured you can then start grinding for Artifice armors. Though this guide can still work even if you don't have Artifice armor, I got triple one hundred stats on my Hunter just by focusing engrams from Failsafe in the H.E.L.M.

You can actually shave an intellect mod (down to 70) if you want, and use the font mod. (Gives a +30 for a single instance of it while you have any armor charge). You can stay at the 80 for better intellect when you don't have AC, but if you can save a mod slot, might as well.

not sure if you found out already, but here's a quick explanation. stats are part of two groups. the first one is mobility, resilience, recovery; the second is discipline, intellect, mobility. the game will generally try to drop armour so that the total stat is split 50/50 to each group. as an example, most warlock builds need high resilience, recovery and discipline. resilience and recovery are in group one, and discipline is in group two. you don't want the other stats in group 2, so by focussing discipline your armour will be more likely to drop with high discipline and lower intellect and strength. the other stats drop randomly in mobility, recovery and resilience, and you just need to be lucky enough to have low mobility. depending on your build it can be different, but you just need to think about which stats you want to be high, and which groups they're in. as far as I'm aware, it's impossible to get triple 100 in one stat grouping i.e. 100 mobility, resilience, recovery.

The DIM one is actually fairly inferior to armornpicker. It parses less combinations accurately, and often forgets to track things such as artifice mods.

@@Arcana-Check Using all Artifice armor is not always the most optimal build. A non-artifice piece could allow you to hit more tiers even tho the Artifice would give the extra +3. I think the tool is smart enough to calculate all of that. If you had proof that DIM was inferior due to being less accurate, then by all means, please share!

You need pretty much 66-68 stat gear, exotic can roll higher so if you get a perfect exotic (2 mob, 2 int, 2 strength, rest in your 3) then it's doable - gotta take into account fragments too, don't use unfavourable fragments to make the build work for the stats - the fragments are worth more. If you roll a 66 chest for example : 20 res, 20 recov, 20 disi, 2 mob, 2 int, 2 str. you want that as a base, then you get a +10 mod also and +2 extra each for masterwork. Obviously some pieces might vary like 25 recovery 15 res, then look for 25 res 15 recovery in another piece to build it up equally.

​@@terintoliver8225 You'll probably need the exotic to be rolled 65+ or perfect stats (2s in everything you don't need) it's hard and luck is involved, but doable. Legendary gear needs to be perfect though since then the exotic can be worse if it does the job. Focus exotics at Rahool and do GM content since exotic armour drops there too.. also pit of heresy final boss once per week (or farm if it's that dungeon for the week) has a guaranteed high stat legendary drop.

They were migrated to the season's triumph page for that particular vendor. They are specific hoops to jump through now, rather than just buying upgrades.

That is some rough luck! I went through about 40 for my hunter (10 in each slot), and got at least 2 good pieces for each.

You think that's bad, I've had the sunshot for over a year now, farming countless strikes and crucible matches and this damn game still won't give me the catalyst

What would you say an ideal stat split is for hunters who likely aren't going to get triple hundos? I need decent mobility, res, and discipline

@@mechamahou8467 I am no where close to a hunter main. So I would probably be the wrong person to ask. For me, I have two primary things though. I have a set of high resilience armor for raids and gm type stuff, then one that's more mobility focused, for pvp and just messing around.

Artifice is a really big deal. Additionally, you want to be focusing your exotics with Rahool for Discipline to get the big spikes. If you don't have spikey exotic armor, or can hurt the final product.

The issue is when you don't have charge, and the fact that they take up valuable mod space. They definitely work, but natural stats are better!
