My one weakness physics

A bolter penetrates armor due to a hard tip. At its low speed, that's pretty meh (Cain books and assorted overarching lore put it at subsonic). A shaped charge penetrates regardless of speed. So this is significantly better.

@@MarcusVance It can't be subsonic, they have a special round which was made specifically to be subsonic.

The Stalker rounds use compressed gas instead of a loud rocket engine and traditional booster charge. That is the suppressed aspect. They also replace the explosive charge with mercury. Given that the explosive occupies a volume of about 8 cm³, that mercury would weigh 1700 grains-about a quarter pound (the weight of a McDonalds burger lol). Plus the super dense core that'd be about 2100 grains... Assuming it achieves the same speeds with that compressed air, it'd hit as hard as a .458 Winchester Magnum-an elephant gun caliber. That's pretty much on par with what I calculate the standard round plus explosive doing.

Interestingly, this gives A LOT of insight into regular bolter rounds too. The Stalker rounds is different, but its use implies that the damage from a regular bolter round isn't far off from this. It causes some of that damage with an explosive, but the end result is similar enough to justify using this instead of a specialty gun. So... a regular bolter is similar to .458 Winchester Magnum.

Not only that but Phalanx Shields share incoming and outgoing fire, Centurion Projection Rifles can mark targets, and a Colussus is able to jump and otherwise maneuver in a way that you wouldn't think a tank-sized space rhino could. The cabal are scary.

Lol The MK-19 dominates the battlefield, I case you don't know about them it's a belt fed 40mm HE it makes sure anything that was there isn't there anymore or at least not in one piece. You can lay down a field of fire on an entire platoon and that platoon of insurgents won't exist anymore.

@@herrdoctor2895 A 50 cal with AP rounds will penetrate upto 1 inch of armor just fine. A SMAW is meant for taking out armor with. A Javalin is meant for taking out heavy armor with. An Abrams tank is meant to take out anything that's Infront of it.

I mean, NATO 5.56 can penetrate armor. Or just swap the upper of an M-4 to .308 caliber, armor piercing rounds, and it would drop the Cabal. Firing controlled bursts of .308, even at full auto, is very do-able - especially with the new recoil-less rifles that are being produced and the military currently has. So yes, we could drop Cabal with modern technology issued to basic infantry.

@@lostgenius unfortunately modern day fire arms would not work on the Cabal. During the Red War the FOTLC got their asses destroyed by on the ground and that FOTLC has golden age weapons... yes I can imagine Cabal soldiers did die but not as many as you may think.

Correction on that, so far it seems only Calus does the whole cloning legionnaires deal, the greater Cabal just have shitton of troops, which makes sense given they're an actual galactic empire.

They're smart munitions, probably able to detonate where they need to in order to do the most damage and also network in a way that ensures the commander of a unit can focus fire in the most effective way possible. Cabal guns are no joke.

Basically every part about a guardian is effected by their light. It even in lore bends bullets away from hitting them. Think of paracausality as "Luck incarnate" in a sense outside the more practical uses.

Xerk said it well, but to put it in perspective, a guardian’s gun is significantly stronger than any version of it that is not used by a guardian, considering guardians use light as ammo, chambering doesn’t matter for them. Some guns just wouldn’t work for a regular human (necrochasm, thorn, super good advice {probably} and any other super magic gun) while others just function worse when used by non guardians, like 22 kelvins which can become a golden gun in the hands of a guardians and shoot the sun at you

It doesnt need to be. Conventional small arms have been enough for regular humans to kill cabal. As seen in the Red War when Hawthornes group mulches a bunch of Cabal during the various skirmishes and the final battle

For Revolvers (aka Handcannons) I'd say .500 Magnum is reserved solely for Eriana's Vow! That thing has some KICK behind it. Plus it uses Special ammo, and is the only 6-shooter revolver in the game. The regular High-Impact i'd say are probably a .50AE. Adaptive Revolvers would be .44 Magnum. Precision frames would be most likely something akin to a .38 because it kicks like one. The logical slight downgrade for a revolver would be .357 Magnum, but they don't kick or even sound like one.

For Pistols (aka Sidearms) Precision frames are .45ACP Agressive 2-burst frames, possibly the same. Adaptive frames have to be 9mm Rapid Fire frames (fully automatic) could be considered 9mm but most if not all of them are energy (only ones i've seen are Suros), and don't visually dispense an empty cartridge after each shot, meaning it has to be a battery instead of a regular magazine. Only exception is the Forerunner which is explicitly stated in it's lore tab by Banshee-44 to be chambered in 12.7mm

SMG's Aggressive frames are .45ACP Precisions do feel like 9mm Not sure about the rest though.

Assault Rifles (aka Auto Rifles) Potentially also Burst Rifles (aka Pulse Rifles) Rapid Fire frames are immediately 5.56 Precision frames be 7.62 High-Impact frames seems like a good choice for 30-06

DMR's (aka Scout Rifles) Rapid-Fire frames are probably 7.62 Precision frames 30-06 Aggressive frames kick a bit like a .270 Remington
