Horse racing began in Dubai in 1981, when a dusty camel track hosted the first thoroughbred race meeting organised by Sheikh Mohammed, Ruler of Dubai and founder of the Godolphin training and Darley breeding operation.
Approximately 10 years later, the Dubai Racing Club was established with the official opening at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in 1992, where the highlight was the appearance of champion jockeys Lester Piggott and Willie Carson.
The first Dubai World Cup was held in 1996 at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse, with American wonder horse Cigar claiming the inaugural running. In 2010, the iconic Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse were introduced, now home to the annual Super Saturday and Dubai World Cup Carnival meetings.
The Dubai World Cup honor roll boasts a range of big names, including these Top 5 performances....

I have never seen a better performance than the one of Arrogate in the Dubai World Cup. He looked hopeless at the half and made an unbelievable run. Nice video.

Arrogate the best! From last to first! If he looks straight he wins.... I hope he still has colts and baby horses... he's the most special of racing horses I had the privilege to watch....

Arrogate's was the most impressive performance, still amazes me how he went from last to first and still made it look comfortable against high class opposition like Gun Runner

If you had Mike on your back smacking your butt you'd run too. Count the whacks. I was happy he did show he was good . Chrome gave him quite the work out in the BCC. Chrome ran him down hard to the Finish line and made him work for that win. THEN he ran in the Dubai World cup and won THEN fell apart. Wanted no more to do with racing after that. Poor horse.

Between you and me I think it's still a jealousy thing. LOL oh well. WE know CC is the best America ever put out. The rest of them won't admit it. Probably because they retire them after one year of real racing. Chrome ran four plus years. Always showed up for a challenge whether he won or not. CC is a REAL athlete and still has thousands of fans following him.

The title is misleading: These were the last five Dubai World Cup races. I am sure most everyone could come up with a few pre-2015 races that would make this list.

Exactly. You can't arbitrarily dismiss the first 20 runnings of the race. Some great performances prior to 2015.

TS runs drug free.......AP ......well you know what he was on. AP only ran that year and accomplished alot due to his trainer at that time. THEN they sold him quick. Actually sold AP after he won the Kentucky Derby. They wanted to drop him quick for SOME reason.
