6 years.... i miss this damn game so much. I would give 10 years off my life to go back and experience this all over again.

This right here has lead to an amazing dungeon in destiny 2, with amazing lore and story about a loot obsessed guardian who goes crazy and keeps digging deeper and deeper.

On this day 5 years ago, this was patched. RIP loot cave. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years.

Over 9 years ago......... Time really does fly, I remember my dad watching me play and me showing him the glitch. I was 13 at the time now I am 22 now.

Oh man, I saw two level 27 people standing and shooting into this cave for like 2 hours a few days ago and I was like what the hell are they doing, so I started doing it, they invited me to their fireteam and then after I accepted, they booted me from the team so that I would get ejected from their instance of the earth patrol zone!

This brings me back man, destiny 1 gave me such a feeling that destiny 2 tried to but never really gave me

Not even that long ago, I feel very nostalgic watching this video. Spent a couple of hours farming this cave with friends, having a lot of fun talking and hanging around while shooting blindly into a cave.

People saying it's cheating or exploitative are beyond wrong. It's an MMO, it's called farming and is a core aspect of ANY loot based game, if you don't know what you are talking about, please don't pretend like you do

I tried this spot, and two things: You can be closer. I usually stood behind the front right concrete block with rebar sticking out, near the crashed mace-looking thing nearest the cave. Another spot to stand is on top of the larger buried thing, up and left of the cave's mouth, where you can see them as they step out, and have a line of sight to the Thralls as they run off.

Little late on this one...Destiny's loot system seems to be designed to bore you to death long before rewarding you, and seems to be AGAINST you from the start... For those crying about it being an "Exploit", here are some things to keep in mind: If you play legit, you will probably never see a legendary: I dont know what influences the RNG, but I've played with the same fireteam member the entire time, my kills per mission are always roughly 3 to their 1 in any mission, and they always die way more than me, but legendary engrams drop for them all the time (roughly 4 for every 1 I get)... I've seen maybe 5 legendary drops total and I've been playing since launch (All my Legendary drops were from this method only, NONE from playing normally, and even then they all rolled into blues). The only legendary Items that actually rolled into Legendary items were some of the Crypto Rewards, and all but a couple of those turned into items for other classes... Even with this method; you'll probably only see 1-2 legendary items in five hours of grinding. Legendary drops can, and often roll into blues, and in the rare case that they do roll into a legendary, they can be of any class - Why? Idk, You obviously cant trade shit with others in this game... TL;DR: 1-2 legendary drops per several hours with this "exploit", or Play the "intended way" and bore yourself to death over repeated strikes/missions/bosses-that-drop-nothing to get a legendary maybe once a week, only to have it roll into a blue or legendary for another class anyway? - I'll take the first option...

Me and some people were doing this and all of a sudden, mobs started attacking us from EVERYWHERE, spawning from the chest spot to our left and the mobs started getting the higher lvl names. It was INSANE! Loved it so much, thanks for the vid Force!

Thank you very much for this tip. They have now started sending a pile of Hallowed knights and wizards to attack the "farmers" from time to time. It becomes one heck of a battle field.

Recent Update: Bungie has made a slight "fix" to this method. While you can still farm it like you did before 2 things have changed. 1. The drop rate has slightly lowered, no biggy just takes a little bit longer. But more importantly 2. They made it so once a certain number of items are on the ground in the cave "that is including ammo" the enemies will stop spawning until you pick it up, so basically you need to on occassion stop and blow all the ammo piled up in there before they spawn again. Just found it out with a friend earlier and after about 2 hrs we were able to confirm this is what they changed.

500 million for the best cave farming experience on the console.

heres a tip if you're by yourself. move closer to the rocks you can see at 1:50 if you move between them only 3 acolytes will spawn

fun fact about that spot. You don't need to fire a single bullet into that cave. I was doing some bounties around that area. I came back 10 minutes later and saw 2 blue engrams in the cave!

The lighting in D1 is so much better. You can see the details of the weapons and other characters armor way better.

It was nerfed because it worked. I got my first legendary from there after only an hour or so.

4 years later, destiny 2, 2 weeks before forsaken.. i hope forsaken makes d2 feel like d1 again.

When facing the cave the building to your left will sometimes spawn a crap load of fallen enemies that seem like an endless wave. They become harder the longer they spawn. I think this is triggered after killing a certain amount of hive in the cave. Was pretty cool when it happened, but I've only seen it once. Seemed like they spawned out of the building constantly for a good 10 minutes.

To all the people hating on this, realise this is all what RPG's are about. Farming. You dont 'have' to do this. Let people play the game the way they want. Even doing this it doesn't mean they will get good stuff from it. I got a full inventory of Blue and Purple Engrams from this and only got Rare and Uncommon gear. 10 of those Engrams were Legendary Engrams.

People are starting to troll in this place. Titans are putting up shields to prevent people from shooting. Random people are just standing in the cave to prevent the spawns. If this game had voice chat with others, some people would have some serious hate.

It's been 3 years and I never knew this existed... lol

I was there earlier today and you can stand closer than that slanted concrete post. I was up on the largest block near to that fallen post and there was still wave after wave of baddies coming out.

I'll start doing strikes again once I can actually earn marks from them. Until then, I'll farm off this cave, because it's the most effective way to level up your cryptarch rank, which when you're out of bounties for the day, vanguard strike marks for the week, and done the heroic of the day, you're kinda left with rank leveling or crucible.

An alternative now that this has been patched is to just do the Chest loot run at the Rocket yard in the cosmodrome while killing enemies in between. It's just as efficient but you have to put a little more effort into it than just shooting at a cave.

This is working, not gaming...

MMO/RPG is all about farming and leveling up. Considering how hard it is to get exotics let alone legendary weapons. I'm thankful for this video.

Destiny was so fun back in the day and this was pretty cheesey, but it was fun to farm for some reason lol. Destiny 2 just wasn’t the same.

oh man this takes me back

I remember doing this in beta, didn't know it had all that loot in it. Went to this area exploring and these mobs just kept coming out. I spent nearly 2 hours just killing mobs in that one spot, but they just kept coming. They were even coming out of the door to the left of where he is facing at 3:18 it was complete chaos, funnest part of the whole beta imo lol.

People really need to check the Grimoire cards out. It explains why you get certain drops from PvE and Crucible Rewards.

Is it just me or Destiny turned out to be less complex than Farmville?

Hey, if u do this for long enough, it will say "the enemy has turned against themselves", or something similar, and then a door will burst open and enemies will not stop spawning no matter how close you get! make sure you're with a full team and also you're above level 12, as tough enemies spawn even though it's only a level four patrol. I recommend using your grenades as soon as the mobs spawn, and then go in the middle of the room and use your super ability. I got about 4 decoherent engrams and 2800 or more XP in less than a minute! just make sure that the mobs don't get a chance to leave the room because then...... You're Screwed.

Oh.. Not sure if its normal but last night … (10 hours ago..) The cave was bombarded with enemies attacking from three directions. It killed most of the players because they were just shooting at the cave lol..

Hope they add this back in D2 now that Cosmodrome is back. It won't, but a man can dream.

It's fixed can't farm here anymore, ammo won't drop an if you stay here too long adds spawn constantly gradually they get harder an overwhelm you, sorry to break the news to ya.

Might as well have the ESO item duping put into this game...

Did you know you can 'Disturb' the remains of the dead hive in that cave and it says: "A million deaths is not enough for master Rahool". funny since u're farming engrams there. Dont know if that was there before, but it might also be linked to the 'nerf' to mock farming players there.

There's something amusing about how we gamers know the names of all item qualities in TF2 but when it comes to Destiny we're just going by colors. I'm not hating. I call them that as well sometimes. That Wizard came from the Moon.
