I'm going to say this for what it's worth, McGwire and Sosa and Bonds, they helped bring baseball back to America's pastime in the 90's, while we could debate for hours weather or not they cheated, but those guys were entertaining and I believe worthy of the Hof.
@nahor88
@nahor88 4 ай бұрын
Baseball is simply more exciting when there's more offense on display. People pan the Astros for the cheating scandal, but that shoot-out in Minute Maid Park was absolutely something to watch. A lights out pitcher is only interesting if you're sitting close to home plate, or you're watching on TV. The whole ballpark can appreciate a mammoth home run, or a speedster flying around the bases.

Barry Bonds was just different man. Hot take: a lot of people talk about how aesthetically pleasing Ken Griffey Jr’s swing is but I think Barry’s was just as majestic. Got less pitches to hit than everyone else during his career, and punished mistakes more consistently than anybody else. The steroids added to his game for sure but his plate vision and discipline, mechanics, coupled with the steroids made him the most feared hitter in baseball from like 1998-2004.

I love how they all act like it's just another day, another dinger. They play it cool, like they are used to hitting bombs that far but have to be freaking out inside. That 120mph homer by Schwarber was blistered which makes the nearly 122 mph homer Acuna launched against the Dodgers all the more impressive. The craziest thing about Acuna is unlike all of these other guys, he isn't that big. How he generates the power he does boggles the mind. He routinely sits atop the leader boards for most hard hit balls and longest average home run distance.
