The idea of the caro isnt to take the pawn in the middle. So if you follow Levi's caro, then you wont find yourself in this situation

YOU CAN NOT GO Ke8. Stop it with the lies. Even the pinned comment thinks so. The game doesn't end with the opposing King being captured. It ends as soon as there's no more legal moves to take while the King is in Check. It is not legal for a player to put his King on a position where it will get captured by the opposing player, even if unknowingly. So as soon as black Bishop moved to e8, protected by the rook, it's game over.

Really bad move! The black gueen simply takes bishop f4 "check", white king has to move, giving black time to Kd7, while threatening to fork at Kf2.
