I don't know if this will affect Guty in how he approaches contract talks with Mr. Love. I don't believe there's enough evidence on record to warrant offering Love a top 5 contract in AAV. Love had half a season of great play, the first half was rough and he couldn't get us past a beatable 49ers team in the playoffs. Let's not forget that Love is under contract for next season AND Guty could always franchise tag Love after that if he regresses a bit and needs more time to prove he's worthy of a long extension. If Guty decides to offer Love an extension, it probably happens mid-season after a great start but no sooner, likely in the $48.5 - 50 million AAV range for a handful of seasons. I also doubt there will be as much guaranteed money as Goff received but who really knows at this point. It all depends on what Love does next year. We got time to evaluate, there's no need to jump the shark & make a massive investment that could hamstring us for yrs to come. Patience my cheesehead brethren. We're in a good spot, enjoy it!!! Before making these type of videos you might want to understand the salary structure of the contract. This is a front loaded contract with a huge signing bonus which keeps the CAP number low and most of the money is paid up front so that will still be able to make moves. Also if you really have studied Detroit you know Holmes does go big in FA. He a draft develope and pay your own guys type. Detroit roster is super young. So there aren't too many extensions on the horizon for them. I think you are grasping for straws because your recognize the superiority of the Lions roster to GBs. Lol.

Strongly disagree, I love the optimism but Goff is higher than 16 imo. There aren’t young “savior” qbs coming up the next 2 years and their window is now. The lions don’t really have anyone else to pay during this, everyone that would come up isn’t really integral to their current success but losing their qb would be. I do think this limits their ceiling to being competitive in the nfc vs being Super Bowl favorites but I don’t see what else they could do other than trading and paying another guy at a similar caliber.
