I've been natural for a year and because of my mixed ethnicities, my hair have three different textures 3 b/c & 4a. I spoke with him and I loved his personality, even when it’s in email you can just tell with people how they are! I felt so sad because before he got back in touch with me I had already booked an appointment somewhere else :(. I have trouble with my crown area too! It's dryer and it sometimes won't grow as long as the rest of my hair. It's been giving me problems ever since I went back natural in 2008. I've tried to keep the tension off of it and making sure I keep it moisturized. Idk... I'm not giving up tho. I started getting my hair done professionally so hopefully that helps.

your hair is amazing... I live in Nova Scotia and for curly girls like myself, we don't have a salon that specializes in deva cuts/trims. Seeing videos posted like this makes me want to fly to Toronto, ON just to get a deva cut/trim and shape of my natural hair.

I am about to make an appointment for my 8 year old baby girl thanks to You! Her poor hair is suffering because I sadly didn't know that her beautiful curly but fine hair needed extra steps and love from my straight/Wavey hair. She is loosing her hair at the front of her scalp and edges, and it is breaking all over. 😔 it is also so tangled all the time and has no bounce anymore. I started putting coconut oil, argan oil, and black Jamaican castor oil in her hair to try to help it. As well as using the diva curl Low-poo & conditioner. Then I put the oils in the hair, but now I am worried the oils are to much. Also... Each time we have had it cut, they cut so much off of her hair that she cries because she wants her hair long so bad. Anyways, sorry for rambling... btw, You have the most BEAUTIFUL tight curls! I LOVE YOUR HAIR it looks so soft, bouncy, & healthy! 😍😍😍

Should i get the steam package for my 8 year old? Or do you think that is to much and to hot? I know she has a lot of build up from products, the pool, cheap shampoo & conditioner, and everyday outside pollution. But if the steamer is to " hot " I am worried she wont sit for it for the whole 20 min.

I live in Atlanta but I'm a little scared to let other races besides my own do my hair. When I was a kid, a dominican woman tried to detangle my hair and she became openly frustrated and asked her coworkers for help in exasperation. I remember feeling embarrassed because she was making a scene and other people in the salon were looking at me. Now, I always have that in the back of my mind and don't want to be seen as the girl with unruly hair.

If you use shampoo what is wrong with using thick natural oils (with no mineral oil) on hair and scalp? I don't see a problem with this for type 4 hair. Are some of these DEVA hair rules meant for caucasian type curls?? Natural cold pressed oils wash out very very easily when cleansing hair even with a mild cleanser.

You’re not supposed to use plastic caps with the steamer. If you use a plastic cap, you might as well just use a hooded dryer because it would be doing the same thing because the actual steam is not getting to the hair, just the heat from it.
