it's August 11, 2020. Something quite recently happened with the PR voting. Is Puerto Rico Headline News (PRHN) planning to cover this particular news? I ran into an article, on Yahoo news, regarding the recent PR Voting event. If PRHN has planned to cover this event, what would be extremely valuable to us gringos, at least to me in particular, would be a better understanding of the PR Political Parties, and major differences. That is, if you are planning anything along those lines. Going to look at the PRHN website and see if you already did something. As always: health and safety, love, and joy...

These executive orders are going to put the nail in the coffin of Puerto Rico‘s economy. On the mainland we have already seen the devastating effects of having such orders for any longer than 30 days. The difference here is the government sent out checks to businesses to somewhat offset their losses I doubt if Puerto Rico is going to do the same for its businesses.

Thank you! You didn't cover travel restrictions. I split my time between our homes in Miami and Puerto Rico. When I last arrived at the airport in PR on July 4th I volunteered for a COVID test. Next I hear was that the COVID test would be mandatory at the airport. That must have not worked out well, because now I am required to produce a negative COVID test within the last 72 hours. That's impossible, in Miami test results take 5 to 14 days to be delivered. My next trip to PR is planned for a week. If I don't get a negative COVID test result in a week, will I be allowed to leave PR?

Russell, if your heading to Puerto Rico and you don't have your test results with you, you will be required to fill out a form with your address and then you will have to quarantine for 14 days or until you get your results and then update your information. PS:. Elective surgery being limited to 'medical standards' means what, exactly? Should people schedule their heart bypass, or knee replacement? Thx...

The executive order does not add details to explain what elective surgery and "medical standards" mean. The best source for clarification will be to speak with your primary care doctor in the case of any needed surgery.

Greatly appreciate your updates. Many 'thanks' to you. It would be interesting to know if schools are planning for more sessions during the day in order to create greater physical space between students. Also, some teachers have already resigned, so how will that shortage be handled? Are more teaches being hired? How does the on-line school work? On the political side, I've noticed that occasionally the administration announces a project that sounds great, but there are no plans and nothing is ever set-up or brought to the functioning stage. Also, why did the 'pruner' employees go from 600 to 200? Was there a budget cut? Hey, back to atmospheric activity. The sound of "something heading our way', sort of sounds a little concerning. No, no, no, you couldn't possibly be misleading us by suggesting that we should be okay for the near future. So, how long, timewise, is the near future? Is it 3 Days? 1 Week? 2 Weeks? Wondering stuff... Thx...

Valeree, love your input! The school thing changes day by day unfortunatley, In fact an article was released today by the Bayamón Central University on how THEY will be handling their online courses and when it will be necessary for students to come in for laboratory face-to-face learning. It seems other schools will have to release and make public how they will be going about their education system.

Information on the public school system is lacking right now. I would have to look up an article I remember reading where students were promised tablets or an electronic device for on-line learning. But then they realized not everyone has internet service so that may have changed.

The latest National Hurricane Center as of 2pm today, Sunday has the closest disturbance to Puerto Rico headed to the North of us and it seems well out of our range. When I made the video it was still uncertain.

@@puertoricoheadlinenews so sorry, please don't do more. However it is interesting to know that school planning changes daily. To me that indicates that the situation is being analyzed and worked on. Which is perfect. Somewhere, I also heard that students might be given tablets. There's a lot to be said about that. Occasionally, I think that if I spoke Spanish I would like to get more involved in political aspects of PR issues. Which could actually be a closed community.

@@valereehansen1277 Every school district in the States is dealing with the same concerns, how to keep students and faculty safe. In Miami we have a terrific Superintendent of Schools. Our Superintendent is starting the school year 100% online. Family with 6 and 12 year boys, think that online learning for the 12 year old will be fine, but are concerned that the 6 year old will be missing out on socialization skills. If a school district opens with in class learning, only the parents can decide if they want their child to attend in class learning. Be Safe.

Since the start of the pandemic the island had 329 deaths or 0.008 (promille) compared to the total population of Puerto Rico. Total cases measured were 27.000 since the pandemic started. The numbers speak for themselves and giving this sad situation 5 minutes is not necessary. The focus of Puerto Rico and its present Government should be to develop solutions and overcome this disaster. Europe, especially Germany is back to life. Wearing a mask and praticing a little "social distancing" has done the trick. People are going on vaccation and have started to enjoy life within controlled parameters and some common sense behaviour. The USA disaster is selfinflicted thru incompetence and poor mindsets. It should not serve as an example. I personally think, that the government has done a decent job but should now focus on solutions instead of extending the present scenario. Puerto Rico has and always had so much potential and it is painful to observe what has happened since 936 was cancelled. Mayb the govenment should look beyond the mainland and initiate talks with the Chinese or some Gulf countries to invest in the island. Needless to say, that I have suscribed and am very happy that Puerto Rico has this online newschannel.

I am so tired of this covid restriction. We dont get this time in our life back. None of us are getting younger. Tired of my life being dictated amd decided. I cant even excercise and maintain my health because the gym is closed. So all i can do is eat and eat and get diabetes instead of covid. Who else has had enough of this?

Oops. My comments are meant to point out the info that I'm interested in, but find lacking in the press releases. Press releases that were merely repeated to us. Absolutely did not intend for anyone to add burden to their day; or have extra piled onto their dinner plate. Definitely will work on the wording of my comments. Yikes.

Gary Nickel I am back in AZ. I live in PR between Memorial Day and Labor Day. PR was cool but many people were so paranoid that COVID test sites were mobbed. It was easier to do it with the national guard at Munoz Airport
