The Texas Department of Transpiration’s use of lean-on bracing revealed a need for enhancements in existing design expressions. Collaborating with the Center for Transportation Research, TxDOT conducted field monitoring and analysis on recently designed lean-on bracing type bridges.
The project aims to improve accuracy in stiffness and strength components while providing guidelines for configuration and bracing design.
