I do believe Mark Douglas did say that most of people will never overcome that psychology aspect of trading, being able to think in term of probabilities, it is extremely difficult to achieve

as i said previously, at least for myself b,ut I do believe it is the same for 90% of retail traders( scalpers, day traders, swing traders) psychology is the most obstacle to success

Certainly the most important topic/video about trading that I watched this year. Thanks to both of you for putting out such great content for free!

Basically, we all have voices in our heads. There is the "good voice" and "bad voice". Neither of them are good for trading. The bad one is that the say you are not good for trading and should be doing other things to your life. The good voice is the one that says to you raise your stake, "you can make a fortune if you do it". With meditation/mindfulnes you can watch this voices speaking to you and you have a choice to step back and breathe/relax and focus on only trade what you are actually seeing and not following what your heads is telling to you to do.

I find that writing down the process and problem in detail helps to organize your thoughts, and get down to the details while also thinking of fresh stuff. Our brains are wired for linear thinking, not probabilistic. I also think that a lot of people move too fast and get tunnel vision so if you are failing trading, you may just not know what youre doing. You wouldnt try to become a surgeon in just a year right? Also lovely mediation. Mindfulness is a scientific practice.

Yvan sounds like a very humble man that has been humbled by life&markets a lot , just like we all are who attempt the markets.. thanks for sharing and passing on your knowledge and experience

This is an excellent interview. I totally agree with this man regarding trading psychology. So many traders disregard the importance of this area when in fact, this is the MOST IMPORTANT area to focus on the most! So many traders I know that trade recklessly without the business approach to trading shrug psychology off or believe there is no way to control their emotions. Through meditation, reflection, self evaluation and awareness I have learned how to trade with little to no emotion.

trading edge = 3 pillars (risk management, Strategy, Psychology)==> Positive expectancy==>winning system

Fantastic Podcast and guest. TY Want to add for anyone who is new to meditation, and is a little intimidated ( cause it's results come from a longer term practice) Any practice, that you do daily, religiously per SE, can be your meditation....sports, exercise, playing tennis ... Whatever puts one into a flow state that then helps to acknowledge these truths the speaker mentioned.... My practice used to be swimming at sunset and sunrise, at a particular location. It was very useful. Yet location dependent...so there is a trade off there... Good Luck and Happy Hunting everyone

All I hear is mindset. Mindset for what? Is it cutting your profit short is it keeping small risk? Is it revenge trading? What system that helps you make money? He shared zero knowledge to the community, we don't care about your life time story champ. Please Etienne interview people who actually wants to help others. Etienne kept trying to get something out of him and he kept on changing the subject. We need an edge first backtested and proven profitable on many pairs then you work on your mindset when you are not excuting or following the rules properly. You don't need mindset when you have a visual proof to your self of what you doing wrong. You need to establish trust with your system first then your mindset will just follow. No trust with your system is what makes you deviate from it (uncertainty). The only way is to backtest then your brain will rest at ease and won't deviate
