I have never not played Hunt since it released on console. After this last event however me and the wife have been going Hunt free until the PS5 version drops.

Better quality often comes with higher demands to hardware, just normal. Glad they use DLSS and FSR to compensate for that.

Frame generation in a MP FPS is probably not what you want. So the versions 3.0 of both do mainly that. Seems a deliberate decision to use the old versions.

Right now they are sure...historically they have been pretty terrible keeping their community in the loop though.

Like when they have the consoles potato graphics for 3 months and said nothing about it after they unlocked the frame rate to 60fps, or when they failed to drop the console update, or had a reload bug, or LeMat bug, or the countless bugs still on console that they have never addressed, like when your hunter gets stuck charging a melee attack, or when your lobby boots out your friends for no reason when readying up. Yeah super transparent about all of that. I’ll reserve full judgement about the update for when it’s out. But in all honesty this game has so many fundamental problems that only an engine update could fix it.

The game only renders what is visible in screen, that is why when you look at a lot of trees you have more FPS then when you look at the ground. The amount of ram and vram may stay the same with that animation in there but Hunt hardly breaks your PC with that. If you think this tiny animation improvement for the water will impact general performance or even causes like more then 1 or 2 FPS even looking at it then you are clueless about modern graphics. That river water animation is probably hardly even measurable!

What would you see as beneficial for this game when using DLSS 3.x? Frame generation is BS for competitive games.

DLSS 3 does not run on all NVIDIA cards, not every player has a newer NVIDIA GPU

@@TheTaurus104 okay. I generally don't mind upscalers and happily utilise them, however not in games like Hunt. There's plenty of leaves, bushes and other vegetation as it is. Due to the fact that AI upscalers are TAA-based, I'd rather use SMAA (which is the most non-smearing solution that Hunt provides), supersampling, or use no AA at all, for the sake of visual clarity. Maybe DLSS has come a long way since the last time I used it, but if that is not the case, I'd rather stay away then.

@@nuk3dom748 unfortunately for 1080p users, which is a major portion of the players, dlss as a replacement for proper AA will still make the game blurry. Always does, unless they accounted for it and have made some proprietary settings to blend with it.

They are fiddling with the backend and MMR now. Broke something two days back, now they apprently fixed it but not really. They made MMR less volatile, they made six stars a bigger bracket and yeah idk much but that is why it's all weird now.

You should be able to change it yourself to DLSS version 2.5.1 by downloading the DLL file. This is technically file tampering though and could prompt a ban :(

It is still the case that low settings give you an advantage because you can concentrate on most things. If you set the shadow settings to low, the rooms inside are lit the same. It doesn't look as pretty, but you can recognise the enemy better and that's more important in a PvP shooter.

You know Crytek by now, if they can get around not optimizing stuff, they will ^^ (*cough* Crysis Remaster *cough*)

DLSS is still a huge upgrade in my opinion but i get your pouint

(hyperbole on the numbers to get the point across, but) in 999999 of 1000000 cases, it is not the engine programmers fault that a game running on that engine has a particular bug. Just like mistaking the gas for the break pedal usually isn't the car manufacturers fault
