In my head Devi and Ben are only together for a year or two because Devi is popular at College and Ben can't really make friends so he gets clingy and controlling. Eventually she realizes she's in a toxic relationship and ends it. Enjoys being Single for a while with maybe a couple short term boyfriend's. After College Paxton becomes a Teacher at their old school and he and Devi run into each other when she visits her Mom. Both of them are accomplished Adults now, they go get drinks to catch up, hook up and get together, get married and start a family. No one can convince me otherwise

Ben and Devi will definitely break up. He's a jerk, he has his sweet moments, but he will also have a lot of immature jerk moments. Paxton is the right choice for her, i don't know why they gave us such a whack ending

İt feels good to assume the worst about him in favor of your boring af ship with people who have no compatabilty right? Paxton hall yoshida is a nice and hot guy but still bland 😢

@@ferideylmaz6114 Devis development was only there because she went to therapy. Ben never got therapy, hence will stay the same. He never takes accountability, unlike Paxton who is capable of reflecting his actions and apologizing. Paxton and Devi made each other better, Devi and Ben are too similar for that, they will hold each other back, just like we witnessed in the last couple of seasons. If you think Paxton is bland, you might not like true character development, maturity and respect in relationships. You can go on and worship Ben, who's only redeeming qualities seem to be that he is rich and sometimes supports Devi, which he could do on a friendship level as well. He doesn't need to date her for that. You stay with your boring af ship and leave me alone, i have no interest in discussing with Ben fans, who don't have the maturity or the cognitive abilities to understand what real relationships should be like, you guys only fantasize about this stupid enemy to lovers trope, that lacks depth and is not applicable to real life relationships.

@@danielhowelli6811 You nailed it! Maturity and Self Improvement are the keywords here. Paxton wasn't always the best but he improved.. a lot. He worked on himself. I don't remember Ben really doing that. For example, the being lonely and having no friends thing .. he never tried to approach people and becoming their friend (except when he didn't wanna go to the game alone or when he got catfished lol). Yea some people might say that's not true and he became friends with Trent and also sorta friends with Paxton.. but why? He only helped Paxton because they literally both couldn't leave the hospital and had nothing better to do. And with Trent it was Trent who approached him. None of that was because Ben was stepping outside of his comfort zone. And then when he was at Colombia and was down because he didn't connect with the people there he made it about them being (or are least acting) smarter than him and he was afraid he couldn't keep up. I feel like he doesn't get that you can approach people and become friends with them even when they don't share the same smartness level. He's too competitive and he doesn't do anything to change that. Even his relationship with Margo started because he was insecure about being bad at art class. And yea, Devi is competitive too but she doesn't base her friendships on that. So yea.. that's why I think Ben won't really make any friends in Colombia. And when he'll see Devi thriving (since she evolved passed being a nerd) his competitive side will kick in and he'll try to hold her back. Also ..yes Devi isn't perfect either .. she's a teenager for God's sake so of course she isn't. Despite my fantasy in my original comment, and despite the fact that I prefer Paxton over Ben I wasn't actually hoping for him and Devi to be Endgame. I wanted her to honor the fact that she doesn't need a boyfriend to be everything she wants to be and go to Princeton single. In my opinion there was no need for an "endgame" since she's only a teenager. Most of the time people don't stay with the people they date as teenagers. I dated a Ben when I was Devis age too, which is why I see Paxton's worth (beyond his Hotness). And I think that's something not even Devi quite understands just yet. That's why I really hope we'll get a "a few years later" sequel in a couple years. I don't feel like our journey with her is over yet.

TBH I THINK THEY DESERVE THEIR OWN MOVIE. MAITREYI AND DARREN ARE SUCH GOOD ACTORS AND THEIR CHEMISTRY IS ON THE TOP SO THEM MAKING ANOTHER TEENAGE ROMANCE MOVIE OR SOME SHI WOULD MAKE US SOO HAPPY BC OBVIOUSLY WE DIDN'T WIN HERE

Still wish Devi & Paxton ended up together . when the narrator said “for now” at the end it made me think there might be a possibility for a reboot in the future. If there is a reboot and Devi & Ben aren’t broken up and Devi doesn’t get back together with Paxton I don’t want it

i feel like their better as close friends, ben and devi are at the same level and so similar and they were both their first time. devi will always be insecure with paxton because she thinks he’s ‘better looking’ than her and more popular.

I AM DESPERATE. Throughout the series I was very torn between Paxton and Ben. Actually, underneath I was team Ben, because I realized that Paxton liked Paxton only because he was popular and so on. However, going forward and reflecting, I realized that the guy I see Devi best with is absolutely Paxton. His character has evolved so positively throughout the series. There are several reasons why I prefer it to ben. First of all I find that the relationship he has with devi is more in harmony, they have always pushed each other on and together they both made each other better. Devi was more confident, had a better self-conception, he was more motivated with homework and generally to improve at everything. The relationship with Ben, on the other hand, was based on bickering and jokes that honestly tired me in the long run. Of course, there were also moments where they helped each other but they were very minimal compared to the "academic battle" between the two which made everything toxic so to speak. There's one thing I keep thinking about. Devi said at the end of season 3 that he was her dream. It means that she realized that she wanted Paxton not for who he was, but for herself, let's say. And that's what stopped her in the end. But I saw much more in them: it may have been like this at the beginning (Devi wanted him just to become popular and not be a loser, etc.) but then their situation evolved into much more. ⚠️⚠️⚠️And THEN, I find their story unfinished: they broke up because Devi didn't feel up to her, not because they didn't fit well together, I mean, there was just this problem that Devi then solved... And so shouldn't love have stayed? If it was all gone WHY the season 4 kiss? In that scene, Paxton continued to look her lips, and she also said "i often think about when we broke up"... This isn't a thing that a person that moved on does. And then when they talk about the kiss and they agree on the end of the goosebumps, they hold their hands for sooo long and paxton looks at her in A ROMANTIC WAY. Frankly, I can't find the point and in my opinion at least Paxton has feelings for her, from the way he looks at her. At the end of season 3 I could have sworn he was in love with her and it can't have all gone away like this. It isn't concluded. Devi and Ben in my opinion will have a volatile relationship and theirs is more of a friendship. Team Paxton forever. My heart aches to think there won't be more scenes of the two of them together. PLEASE tell me what you think ab this. How their love vanished in this way??? They felt something for each other also in season 4, come on.

I would have kind of liked it if there was a completely different ending, because now some of the fans are disappointed. Would have been the same if she had taken Paxton. They could have either left her single and somehow made a nice message like "You can also find love with yourself first." Or they could have introduced someone like Ethan (as the third/fourth) and picked him as a endgame. Except maybe Ethan wouldn't have done what he did. But I liked it anyway!

It's crazy people want this to be the endgame. Paxton was never deeply serious about Devi. He mainly wanted Devi to play the study buddy role and then he left for college. Although Ben was Devi's competitor, he was there for her every time.

At first, i was team ben, bc i thought that paxton wasn't serious, as you are saying. But then i saw much more, you can clearly see that he loved her.. How he talks to her, how he helps her, how he looks at her.. I think that even if at the beginning their relationships wasn't that serious (devi wanted him to be popular) things evolved into something bigger from both of them.
