Shadowserg Where's the 3rd fight against Jester? I only see the 1st and the 2nd ones.

Narratively and chronologically it makes sense why Dante becomes somewhat more serious in 1, and 2. In 3, Vergil stays in the Underworld which makes Dante sad that he realizes that the only family member he had just wanted power and chose to stay there. Dante in DMC1 not only managed to win against Mundus but accidentally thought he killed his brother when he couldn’t see that Nelo Angelo was Vergil. No matter what Dante did it won’t bring back his mother or brother despite avenging the both of them by defeating Mundus. In the anime and DMC 2, Dante’s life has somewhat become hallow. He’s not only one of the strongest beings that can’t be killed that easily and when he does fight someone it’s the only way to make him somewhat forget about his loneliness and what he lost. Don’t get me wrong, he has Lady, Patty, Morrison, and Trish but it’s obvious that Dante pushes them away in fear of losing them or not wanting them to see them get hurt. He got better after and during DMC 4 as he found out that Nero must have some connection to the Sparda bloodline. With him comes the conclusion that Nero must be Vergil’s son because of Nero’s natural affinity to Yamato. Because of this, Dante becomes happier knowing that he has a nephew and something to remember his brother by, even though he doesn’t tell Nero this until near the end of DMC 5 after V merges with Urizen to become Vergil.

Makes a whole lotta sense if you look at it chronologically(3,1, anime/manga, 2, 4, Book, 5,) Funny enough their some sect of the fandom that tries to shoehorn in DmC Reboot as the prologue of DMC3. Which I will extend an olive branch… the way that ended and the Vergil dlc attached made me put two and two together in some fashion…

Well in the second Dante was more serious because what happened during the anime adaptation (which is canon) with Sid and Abigail and how he messed around to much and world almost ended, so he was more serious.

@@MaverickX578 the anime just shows the same dante from dmc 3 and 1, the one who does jokes all time. Buttt the anime shows the boring missions dante accepts, and thats why he is serious. and other thing is that dante do some jokes sometimes but the voice actors were so bad at their job that you couldn't tell when he was joking or being serious.

Roger 60fps was not the standard. Only a couple games (including dmc) had 60 at that time. Agree on everything else though

@@KripticHCS Not the various PS2 games I purchased. Nearly all the non-RPGs on PS2 I have (except for Sonic Heroes) ran at or near 60 fps. That is why I was so disappointed seeing that sequel games appearing on PS3 were mostly 30 fps (i.e. the Dynasty Warriors series)... and this issue extends to the PS4 generation, where they "revived" a PS1 "feature" -- LOAD TIME! PS1 fighting games takes less than 8 seconds to to load. Now they take around 15 ~ 20 seconds. Damn shame!

Roger While I agree with most of this....Did you really compare the load times of a PS1 Game and a PS4 game? That makes no logical sense. Of course the PS4 games, that have much more assets and resources used, take 15 or more seconds to load. In-game, Most games have a opening and ending cutscene, one that can change depending on the characters. Most levels are interactive and can be altar, the game has to load all of that

Roger completely agree. The 6th gen was the best gaming gen there ever was and sadly probably ever will be. (2nd best is the 16-bit era imo). Anyway with the cost of development ever rising, creativity and innovation that was abundantly present during the 6th generation is basically gone in AAA space, at least there's the indie dev scene but that's about it.
