the mad yeah, but urizen gains the power of the fruit and still loses, when v connects and joins urizen Vergil forms again, but stronger than urizen as Dante struggles to keep up with Vergil in their final fight, and Vergil also unlocks the sin devil trigger too, the same thing that helped Dante keep up with urizen

Well, Urizen is the first one who truly beat Dante. Like truly beat Dante, he literally shut down Dante for one month before Dante rise back to power and surpass him with Sin Devil Trigger. Even real Vergil could not do that. Urizen is beast! That being said, now that both Dante and Vergil has Sin Devil Trigger, the bar is set higher now. The DMC6 must feature a brand new antagonist even stronger than Urizen. I feel like is time for DMC to truly introduce angelic enemy now. We seen briefly in DMC3, the artificial one in DMC4 and of course the whole Nephilim stuff in DmC. I guess now will be the right time for higher angelic enemy to appear before Dante and Vergil. Introducing Nephilim in canon DMC verse will be great too

I almost laughed at Dante's answer "Strength is a choice. Fighting like hell to protect whats's important", completely ignoring the fact that he had to absorb the rebellion and Sparda's sword to become that powerful. Fighting like hell can only get you to a month of coma.

From Vergil’s eyes their mother always liked Dante more. She “saved” Dante but left Vergil behind. He didn’t know that she tried to save him. Vergil lost to Dante over and over. In DMC 3 he lost to Dante even though he was ready to throw away everything even his humanity for power while Dante wouldn’t. “Why do you refuse to gain power? The power of our father Sparda” Then imagine how he felt when he lost to Mundus got his father’s keepsake sword broken and literally lost himself and became a slave as Nelo Angelo. He lost literally everything and again still lost to Dante as Nelo. Even lost his Amulet meaning his two most prized possessions were gone while Dante never lost Rebellion or his Amulet (besides the short time in 3) and even gained Sparda what Vergil basically died trying to get. Vergil was on the verge of death because he was chasing power while Dante seemingly has everything without going through what he went through. His last action was to literally split himself in two completely becoming a Demon King just like Mundus even eating the same fruit as Mundus. V even says he’s a shell of his former self who lost “everything” and all that just to beat Dante and he still loses. Not saying Dante didn’t lose anything but in Vergil’s eyes he deserves the power because he gave up everything for it. His sword, his amulet, his freedom and even his humanity while Dante just fucks around and eats pizza.

kras think about it like this he had to unlock that potential, the force edge/Sparda didn’t accept Vergil because he wasn’t pure. Hence why Dante was able to absorb the Sparda , the Sparda accepted Dante’s will .

I dont think they really have thought about it this way while writing the story, but this might be the reason why he was so serious in dmc2. He thought he killed his own brother in dmc1, and was so demotivated in dmc2 because of that (which now takes place before 4), and even in the first fight with Nero in the beginning in dmc4, he still wasnt sarcastic and was more serious. After he saw his arm he started to realize that he might be his nephew, and started talking to him and was happy again...

Urizen tells it himself that the Apple gives him what he always wanted. Yet the only thing he gains by eating it is losing his chains. He doesn't get any more powerful. Dante still beats him. The boss battle isn't noticably more difficult than the previous Urizen fights either. One thing the apple did however is gave him the illusion that he is there at their Mother's house on the day she was murdered. I suspect all he ever imagined he wanted was to stand there on that day but with enough power to save his family. Now he has the power and the apple made him the illusion. He got his wish fulfilled, but it meant nothing in the end.

It would be very different, Sparda would be disappointed in Vergil/Vergil's Demon Side and Eva heartbroken, all the innocent lives used to make that atrocious fruit including children and seeing her eldest son devouring that thing for selfish intent.

Doesn't exactly make a whole lot of sense when you boil it down. But I dunno, maybe if you assume Vergil is supposed to be as strong as Urizen with the fruit + V (plus a little stronger than that, whole greater than the sum of the parts and all that) and you assume he was fresh for the final battle and Dante wasn't, I guess it works out. Sort of.

Its because Urizen doesn't know how to fight. You can see that everything he's doing is actually unimpressive. He's banking entirely on raw power. Vergil is Dante's equal because Vergil actually knows how to fight.

I mean, Dante and Vergil are basically Goku and Vegeta. Goku dresses in red, has a goofy personality, is fond of humans, uses his Sayan powers for good and to protect humanity. Vegeta dresses in blue, has a stoic, no-nonsense personality, sees the humans as weak and pathetic, embraces his Sayan herritage, but only as a form of obtaining power, which he craves above all, and yet, despite being seemingly more focused in his efforts to attain said power, he still loses to the red guy in the end. Yet he makes a constant effort to one-up the red guy and the two are at a constant rivalry as a consequence. Now swap "Sayan" with "Demon" and you can use the exact same description for Dante and Vergil. Hell, even Vegeta's plotline of him being an ass to his grown-up son that he didn't know was his son at first, was basically reused for DMC5.

Remember when V said to Dante "He is your reason why youre fighting"? I think thats how he came to this name lol Your reason - Urizen. It made no sense for Dante to call him Urizen in mission 11 or so it was i think (other than to keep it from the players...), since V only told that to Nero. Dante knew from the very beginning of DMC5 that this monster is Vergil

Not necessarily. Those tentacles could easily stop dante's approach which would have given urizen enough time to eat the fruit.

I'm late, but Dante didn't care about the power boost Urizen would get from the fruit. As long as Urizen didn't make the choice to eat it, Dante believed Vergil still had humanity in him, that he could be talked down somehow. Once he ate the fruit, 1:44

Lesser demons find their way out from time to time. The plot only needs to say it and he’s out. Now that he has Yamato he should be able to get out again since demons could use a shard of Yamato to do it.

Majin Devil Trigger IS Sin Devil Trigger.

Canonically, Sin Devil Trigger is the strongest form now. You could also say that Sin Devil Trigger is the true Majin Form. The problem with Majin Form is, it was introduce in DMC2...you know a game where even Capcom try to pretend it never exist. But still, DMC2 is indeed canon, however I guess at this point, we just have to assume that the only thing canon in DMC2 is just Dante beat the hell all the demon, that all. Plus gameplay wise Majin Form is activated when Dante almost death, but lore wise, we know Dante has no problem beat the shit all of the demon, even Argosax got beat by him casually. So yea...let just say Dante never truly unlock his most powerful demon form until DMC5...at least this is my canon for DMC story..

I think Vergil does end up feeling "guilt" from V because later he contemplates to himself about if his and Dante's lives were switched.

Vergil was dying. Probably used up too much power putting himself back together or something. So he ignorantly tried to cut off the part that he thought was his weaker human side, not knowing he would create such a monster. V is pretty much Vergil trying to clean up his own mess.
