I like that in the end credit scene dante and vergil are fighting, but instead of trying to kill eachother they're just having a friendly competition

I now understand the fear that Vergil Felt every time he would hear me switch to Royal Guard, because every time it happened it scared the shit out of me

bro i can't explain how much i love this battle and the dialogue between, where they're just mocking each other cuz both know that in this battle they either will die or will become too tired to continue the battle

This is such good way to show how Vergil is an excellent rival to Dante by us the player controlling him (recent games showed he was already great but this was amazing). It's cool to see a pov against Dante and how it feels more like a survival mode than a boss fight.

I love how the two most powerful residents of hell after this game are two brothers that won't stop trying to kill each other. The demons that die just got in the way of their decades long fight

I just started fighting this boss earlier this morning(and I am DEFINITELY going to come back and practice some more later!) and I think I realized why fighting Dante might be harder than Dante fighting Vergil: it is because Vergil doesn’t have as many defensive options as Dante does. With Vergil you have the block that not only isn’t as broken as Royal Guard but also takes uses up the Concentration gauge. Also, if you get caught in one of Dante’s attacks you can’t dodge out of it. Vergil is very much a more offense-oriented character than Dante!

dante: how'd it feel catching up with your kid? Vergil: there's no need to "catch up" because I was a possessed zombie for the past 20 years. Dante: So literally a dead beaten dad Vergil: call me that again and I'll slit your throat. Dante: Hey, you're the one who wanted to stay in the demon realm in the first place. Vergil: I thought for sure i could take on Mundus. Dante: and then you broke one of daddy's swords. Vergil: and I'll break you if you don't stop jabbering! Dante: I love you too brother.

*Properties and behaviours:* He is open to combo whenever he taunts. Take advantage of that and immediately teleport to him and attack him before he finishes taunting. If you do EX Provocation while he's still attacking, he will dance with you once he's done attacking. As long as you don't start attacking him again, he will keep dancing even if you stop yourself. You can disrespectfully interrupt his dancing and combo the shit out of him that way. You can deliberately attack him when he's in Royalguard to make him do Royal Revenge (that's the only thing he does in Royalguard, no Royal Release) and Trick Dodge that with perfect timing to build up your Concentration Meter and DT a lot faster, and if you attack IMMEDIATELY after he does Royal Revenge, you can combo him that way as well. He has super armour while attacking. He loses super armour once he's done with his attack pattern. Combo him before he starts another attack pattern or goes into Royalguard. His Block and Dash are purely there for animation. He does not avoid damage during these animations. Most of the time you don't benefit from parrying his attacks.
