I always feel bad for Jerry in this movie, he's not a bad guy in the slightest, and really tries to make an effort to be there for the mom and the kid. He just unfortunately picked a woman who wasn't ready to move on from her ex yet. I know its fictional, but Jerry deserves to find himself a good woman and have a kid of his own, he's totally made to be a dad. It's just that the kid he was a stepdad too already had a dad, and he didn't need a stepfather--he needed his father.

Idea: Liar Liar 2. Fletcher hears Jerry has trouble with his latest marriage and is in danger of losing his kids, so he helps him out anyways. However, one of Jerry's kids wishes Jerry would get custody of them instead of Mom, but the wish makes Jerry, a decent man who can't tell a lie, tell all lies. Fletcher tries to work with it, but Jerry can't tell even a single truth, even if it helps his case.

EASTER EGG: In the beginning Fletcher is running down the stairs and tells the bald lawyer "Just another victory for the wrongly accused" and the lawyer responds "Yeah right". That lawyer was the real life Chris Darden who was one of the lead prosecutors in the OJ Simpson Trial.

Liar Liar is easily one of my favourite comedy films and films in general, it’s too funny and also heartfelt I think my favourite scenes though are the more serious ones the first is when Fletcher says “I’m a bad father!” and when he realises that he made a mistake and found out what kind of a person Samantha really was and that the Dad was really a good man that made me a bit sad. The look on his face at 37:22 says it all, like he just looks absolutely destroyed and disgusted with himself that he lost that man his kids and made such a massive mistake.

If you go back, when the judge asks him if he can describe who assaulted him (because he can't lie) he ended up describing himself. That's why, when he said the dangly teeth part, he closed his mouth. :D

One of the funniest Jim Carrey movies ever made! When a young boy in his birthday wished for his father, a successful lawyer, would never tell a lie for one day, it comes true, with both hilarious and disastrous consequences.

Loved this movie since I was a kid, still makes me laugh no matter how many times I’ve seen it but now I’m an adult I actually cry a bit when it’s the courtroom scene and the kids are being dragged away from their dad, it’s so terrible

One of the things about this film is Jerry "the new bf" is completely Magoo no question. He is also the most wholesome, gives a fuck, call for resuce in the middle of the night guys a women will ever find. Yet she didn't really want him because he was so safe. It's a testament to the saying 'nice guys finished last'.

Liar Liar is definitely one of Carrey's best movies ever. And yes. Some parts can never ever be played by someone else. And this was one of them. No one but Carrey could have done this role.
