When you remove the handle, it's hole became a bypass to the port that's why the driver went pumping like crazy coz air can easily come in & out of the box. Port makes air delay & the driver have to make more effort in moving the air mass inside the box thru that port & produce bass. The primary function of the enclosure is to eliminates the cancelation of the sound produced by the front & rear side of the driver. That's what I learned from subscribing & watching your other videos in your channel. 😅 Pls keep up the good work.

Thats because removing the handle moved the tuning frequency up. so the port no longer plays the same low frequency.

Oh, its infrasound woofer for organs?
@mp30439 ай бұрын
You are changing the tuning of the carbinet to a higher frequency. Therefore the driver moves much more playing the same low frequency.

Let's just toast this driver here. See look how much it moves when we screw with the ported frequency...

What a monster of a sub. I heard them at Ultra Miami before (same drivers in the F132s), you get shaken around quite a bit standing in front of them.
@gdrew41712 күн бұрын
The air will find the path of least resistance, like electricity. If it can't escape fast enough, it restricts the movement of the driver.

What is the benefit of the reverse mounted driver? Just for cooling or sound too?
@BuildYourOwnBassАй бұрын
my own Subwoofer research & experience suggests to me that the inverted cone on the driver is to maximize cone displacement area in the room (the reason for buying this $1000 driver), unique underhung suspension to get more cabinet air moving around the copper coil (to prevent thermal failure), and because the cone itself is made out of some denser materials than an Eminence paper cone subwoofer, and the cone ripple (watch a cone in slo-mo) would destroy a traditionally designed non-underhung cone and suspension. Your average installer doesn't consider how much work the Spider does to restrain the cone from wanting to eject itself when hit with over-power. I've had EVs just launch their dustcaps when hit with a 5-string Bass at 250w. 😂

doesnt bass reflex not just work on a 1/4WL principle?. u get in that chamber the line u force out of a pipe because of its port area. that port area reflects to compensate the missing port. so ofc u mess with the cabin if u get an area big enough that acts as an other port built parallel.

@scoutjonas10 күн бұрын
Yes, but for oscilating air you call it impedance. Thats because you will both have a resistance value and a phase. The resistance is aldo frequecy dependent.
@romyaz17132 ай бұрын
you are killing the driver. because you alter the air impedance loading on the driver, it is free to move at high amplitude possibly beyond its Xmax. bye bye linearity
