In 1983 I was 15 years old and got a ticket to their concert in my hometown. They were so popular then that in my hometown they sold out 3 shows back to back. I was just so thrilled to have snagged a ticket. They were just as amazing live as in the studio recordings. Their music rabbit hole is deep and vast. They have a huge catalog of music. You will not be disappointed in your discovery of this amazing band. Steve Perry is the lead vocalist and is referred to as “the voice”. Neal Schon is a self-taught lead guitarist and started playing for the band Santana in the 70s at the age of 16. Jonathan Cain (amazing song writer) is on keys. Ross Valory on base guitar and Steve Smith “the animal” is on drums. You will find their early songs when Gregg Rollie and Anysley Dunbar were in the band phenomenal as well. Infinity, Evolution, Departure, Captured (live album), Escape and Frontiers,Raised on Radio, Trial by Fire and Steve Perry’s solo albums...Street Talk and For The Love of Strange Medicine are all worth your time to become familiar with. Their song 🎵 “ Faithfully” 🎵 is the song of me and hubby of 35 years! Lyrics are good! This song… he is saying they broke up and she found someone else but if this other guy hurts her he will still always be there for her. Very sweet.
